  1. Just going to register that I am very wary about any innings Shota pitches today. Really wish they'd just hold him until NLCS (if we win). Feel free to quote if Shota shoves
  2. These games are still nerve wracking and all that but it does feel like they are slightly less life and death since winning the World Series, I am thankful for that even if it kind of sucks it will never feel that important again.
  3. Absolutely the right call. He has given up 15 HRs in his last 8 starts, 23 HR in his last 14 starts, at least 1 HR in 13 of those 14 starts and at least 2 HR in 8 of those 14 starts. For a game 5 you can't take a chance on a guy that got blasted in the same ballpark by the same team a few days ago. I am not at all opposed to pitching him in the NLCS if the Cubs advance, but right now with the season on the line, the entire Milwaukee pen at their disposal, etc you can't risk him giving up a 3 run HR or something like that.
  4. Michael Busch moves up to 6th place in the Cubs all time postseason HR leaderboard with his HR last night 1. Schwarber - 6 1. Rizzo - 6 1. Bryant - 6 4. Baez - 5 4. Fowler - 5 6. Busch - 4 6. Russell - 4 6. Alex Gonzalez - 4 6. Aramis Ramirez - 4
  5. Fangraphs has the Cubs as an extremely thin favorite to win Game 5 (based on their playoff odds metrics) 50.5% - 49.5%. They also do not respect either the Cubs or Brewers against the Dodgers, as LA has a 70.2% chance of winning the NLCS according to them and a staggering 44.8% chance of winning another title.
  6. Regardless of what happens, the Cubs will be one of the last 5 MLB teams playing this year
  7. He just crossed the threshold for most innings pitched in a season for him. I think giving him as much rest as possible is better, plus he’s simply better at Wrigley. Taillon has been pitching great and Horton hopefully is still pitching somewhere near the level he was at in September. I think those are the guys I want going not just in game 1 and 2 but games 5 and 6
  8. I think I saw 6 or 6:30 ct can’t remember edit: or 7 lol. Stupid jet lag
  9. I…don’t think that’s how it works edit: never mind I thought you were saying Brown starting G5 and getting hurt
  10. Are we all in agreement that we go with a pen game on Saturday? Shota should not pitch in the game. Save him for a game 3 against the Dodgers. getting WAY ahead of myself but Taillon, Horton, Boyd, Shota is good setup in a potential NLCS
  11. Kellers command has not been there the last 3 outings even if yesterday was an overall successful performance.
  12. All I’ve been able to get out of my kids is that it originated from a rap song
  13. It’s crazy how routine Nico made the play look.
  14. This is why we don’t ever score any horsefeathers runs after the first inning. Ffs
  15. As my 9 year old says “make him throw a double play pitch”
  16. Swear all their hits are with 2 strikes.
  17. Hell definitely go another with the bottom of the order due up. Just don’t know if he’ll pitch into the 6th with the top of the order due up for the 3rd time (if he retires the Brewers in order in the 5th)
