I didn't even realize a non-afternoon game was possible. Triples the intensity that I was going to root for the Texans already. Wait, now I'm very confused. How does them winning keep us from playing in the afternoon? I assumed non-competition would bump the Cubs to primetime? You would think so, but nope. The Cubs are either the 2nd game out of o3 or the 3rd game out of 4. The 3rd game out of 4 makes it just a slightly later start time. on the flip side, if the Mets sweep does that mean the Cubs get the late game for game 4? Uhhhg. I'm in Mountain time zone, and I'm not quite enough of a slacker for that early of a start time to let me watch the start. The only bonus is that my supervisor and another boss-like-person are Card fans, so I'll conspire to get us to either watch at work somehow, or take off early. -

If I may, there are plenty of bandwagon Cardinal fans. They're the ones who you see taking selfies during the games and are in the party rooms at the stadium eating and drinking and paying 0 attention to the game. Of course the club loves them because, let's face it, they don't make near as much $$ w/o them. I don't consider a fan a die hard because he happens to have enough money to go to the park often so he can be seen. I like fans who still watch the games on TV when they're down 8-4 in the 9th. Are you saying you like fans who cheer for their team the right way?

This site is a fairly sure bet force an amused smirk out of me from time to time, but I laughed hard enough and often enough on the last two pages to wake up the kids. This series is going to be amazing.

What I take out of this game is that I get to dislike the Pirates now. Not because of hitting Arrieta intentionally, but because Cole was blocking the best camera angles of that legendary bat flip.

Meh; everyone at the Network has been slobbering over Arrieta that he either was chosen or decided to be the one guy who locked on to Cole. He's been doing it for almost a couple of weeks now. So, Plesac is taking the hipster approach then? Sort of like a 22 year old with student loans wearing a Trump trucker hat? That, or he just wants people to pay attention to him. Same thing really.

Last year they had streaming if you authenticated with a cable login. Just finished reading a Techgraphs article that said TBS hasn't formally announced anything for this year, but my guess is it'll be the same. OK, cool thanks. I googled but was worried the blackout restrictions or whatever would apply. I mooch off my parent's login (so I'm still in some quasi-adulthood, I guess). I haven't read through the rest of this thread, but if you have a roku or something similar, SlingTV includes TBS, and they have a two week free trial...

I just want to point out that I predicted that Arrieta would finish second in the Cy Young (and that Fowler would lead the NL in runs scored...he finished 3rd behind Pollock and Goldschmidt) in the "Bold Prediction" thread. Looks like I could possibly, maybe hit it on the nose, even if I didn't call having the best post-break era in baseball history.

Pat was describing how graceful Fowler looks when he was running and mentioned how much "real estate his stride chews up" as he glides. ...and Ron decided to chime in by mentioning "the real estate...he chews up" with each step. Ron also doesn't know how to use the term "proverbial." I thought you had to be able to say words to work in radio.

Ever seen Return to Oz? The one where Dorothy is so obsessed with her dream land that she's institutionalized (and somehow, like 10 years younger;) and when she finally does return, it's an absolute bizarro-train wreck cluster [expletive] version of the magic and wonder which she longed for? Well, that. I think I'm going to have my 2 year old watch this one with me during Halloween this year. Should be fun. I don't know, it's very dark, at times very creepy. I watched it with my (then) 4 year old last year, after not seeing it myself in ages. She wasn't terrified, but there were some parts that had her turning away. She is pretty good at repeating the mantra, while shrugging "It's not real! It's not real, Dad!" -
