  1. Ok, so now I have some questions about the minor league roster. I saw a comment somewhere that implied that there are separate major league and minor league drafts. Is that correct? And if it is, do we only get a number of picks corresponding to how many "open" spots we have on the minor league roster (so 0 picks if we have 10 minor leaguers going into the draft?)
  2. One clarification question/statement: The minor league players don't count against the 10-player max players kept, correct? But it could be possible for a minor league player to count against the cap, if they somehow were minors eligible but were out of exceptions?

  4. Heh, mean. Yeah, I can work with this, but it seems like this will be largely a rebuilding year for ThomeDon'tPlayThat.
  5. I also didn't get an email, and it now says I don't have access to the league.
  6. Um, I think that's UK's team. He's still around. He tanked last year to get the #1 draft pick. It's a common strategy with mixed results. ...no offense meant...
  7. Was one of those two Grimm? And those were the dance moves to "Single Ladies" at the end there, wasn't it?
  8. I guess I'll wait to see what the other guys decide, but I checked out one of those teams that would be taken over (the one that scored the least points last year)...and I think you'd be better off just blowing up at least that team and contracting. It looks like it is Giolito, Lucroy and a pile of garbage.
  9. ...if I'm taking over an especially horrific team, can I get some sandwich picks or something? Jk (kind of) Speaking for myself, I'm decent at this fantasy thing and I'm fairly excited about the rule set up, but this is a LOT more involved than was advertised and I don't know if all of the new possible recruits will be as jazzed about it. Btw, in the rules sticky I missed what that stat set up is. 5x5 standard? Points?
  10. Heh. Breaking news!
  11. I don't think of it so much of a mystery that is meant to be figured out, but something that suddenly makes all the characters (insane) actions make more sense and seem a little more human/tragic. ("You don't know? ...you don't know!!?!"). But sure, more Bowie, more Colorado Springs (which is where I am from).
  12. Yeah, the plot twist ruined the whole movie for me. Wtf ever. I can see being annoyed by the absolute last reveal (with the tanks) but how Bale's character was doing the disappearing man was f'in gold, and is what makes the movie awesome.
  13. No mention of The Prestige? Lame.
  14. I could have sworn it was the ghost of Harry Caray, just by the way that Theo turned like he has seen an amusing apparition. It is all there on tape.

  16. I want to see Murton in the standard 5th OF/backup 1B/4th catcher role.
  17. It isn't anything you didn't already know, apart from the fact that Fowler has never started anywhere apart from CF, and Montero has at least one start in both LF and RF during his career, which is stunning. EDIT: It seems to have hurt my brain too. Scratch that about Montero. What am I missing. It says Montero only has played at catcher. Or no? I attributed Schwarber's line to Montero because I am not smart.
  18. Apart from my goof, it isn't the chart that is confusing. It was the text of the tweet that was very awkwardly ordered. There aren't any individual players that have started at all positions. But the team collectively has at least 3 players who have a start at each defensive position...it is still confusing to state. I give up.
  19. This tweet makes my brain hurt. Explain it to me. It isn't anything you didn't already know, apart from the fact that Fowler has never started anywhere apart from CF, and Montero has at least one start in both LF and RF during his career, which is stunning. EDIT: It seems to have hurt my brain too. Scratch that about Montero.
  20. If Baez can play a rangy, canon-armed OF spot, why would you bother giving Szczur any playing time at all?
  21. That seems a little bit crazy, as it handcuffs the number of pinch hitters and defensive replacements you can use. A bench that small would mean a lot of Wood and Hammel ABs in extras. 5 on the bench would be enough of an experiment. Why the hell would we pinch hit for anyone in this lineup? ;) JUST until Lester solves his BABIP problems. THEN we can go to the 4 man bench.
  22. Amazing hashtag [tweet] [/tweet]

  24. LaStella basically never gets to start on this team. There is simply no such thing as a forfeit line up. No matter what the line up looks like on any non-Lester day, it will include 8 offensive monsters and two more waiting on the bench. And for Murton fetishists, I think this move slightly improves the chances that he makes the team as the 5th OF, as we no longer need a defensive minded CF wasting a space, especially since Baez might be able to fill that role, too. This offseason is playing out like a weird, unrealistic dream that would make me smile as I shook my head when I woke up. The season needs to start NOW.
  25. Amazing. This will also allow the vendors more time to sells beers, which means more money for the Cubs to spend, which means yet more amazing signings...resulting in even MORE beer being drunk!
