This is a fun article. I especially appreciated the mention of Jermaine Van Buren, a guy I had all but completely forgotten about. Did he make the Murderer's Throw t-shirt? The air space stuff is so ridiculous I have to wonder if it is even true.

Making fun of the Pirates is fun to be sure, but I think on a dollar to dollar basis, no one is better at squeezing the most out of their rag as the Pirates. Which I respect, as the Cards would pretend they are the best at it...and still do, anyhow. Whatever.

Couldn't watch the game but I got to sneak a peak at the game with no audio on my phone and saw the Cubs were winning 13-0...but Jake is still pitching in the 7th...and he seems very focused...and he is Jake...I'd better check if he's carrying a no-no. Why am I not surprised at all? Just silly.

Darwin Barney is still on the active roster of a well above-average MLB team, fwiw. I am aware. That does not change the fact that I would still rather have Javy Baez than Darwin Barney, fwiw. Agreed.

If I came off as a Cardinal fan apologist then I...apologize? I'm fairly confident this dood is totally horrible. (To give you a glimpse of my perspective, I had a friend from high school who is asian/south american currently serving 55 years. He does appeals and runs gambling pools for the white supremacists because prison is a rough horsefeathering place.)

that's not a "good" point I'm sorry. At first I was imagining this guy walking into a Belleville strip mall tat parlor and asking for the Sunday afternoon special, but the post brought me back to reality. Everyone else probably knows a lot more about prison dynamics than me I guess.

Another forum commenter made the good point that the this is likely a prison tattoo and maybe not completely voluntarily inked...but he sure went full bore, didn't he? I'd wear a scarf at the very least.

Kowasaki would be a likable goofball even if he he spoke perfect English. If you think his fandom is sketchy...well, I don't wanna be legit. Although I can understand the sensitivity after some of the Fukudome stuff, who was not a cuddly underdog weirdo.

Exactly. While it was really cool and goofy when JD made the "Arizona is a blue state!" comment this year, the 4 beats of silence and chuckle from Len afterwards were awkward...but I enjoyed it.

I'm not listening, but like those that refuse to believe that LaStella can hit a baseball, I refuse to believe Coomer can be interesting or insightful. You must me be mistaken. It did take him a good 5 seconds to tell me that Parra caught the Montero fly after the ball was actually caught. The crowd noise is a better play by play guy...so if it is an impostor, he knows what he's doing.

One of my best friends from High School was in that recentish Jackie Robinson movie, and now every year I'm reminded of how horrible that movie was.
