  1. I'm worried that the MLB is going to ban him for being too good that it's unfair. I've already seen some headlines that asked "Is Arrieta's delivery cheating?" I didn't read the article, obviously.
  2. The ONLY positive was re-mention of "Ding Dong Johnson"
  3. Wait, this is a pre-game show? I thought that was just an extension of the post game show from 40 [expletive] HOURS AGO!!!!
  4. FYI: Vegas has the Cubs at about 5:2 favorites for this game.
  5. You have to win game 4 before you can win game 5, that's why. It clear that he's their best pitcher and they have to win. Game theory rolls its eyes at you.
  6. Let us assume that the Cubs have a 2-1 lead going into game 4. Why would Matheny bother to pitch Lackey on short rest? They still need to win BOTH games 4 and 5. Keep Lackey on his normal rest and start whoever the hell for game 4. I don't think it makes sense to play Lackey on short rest just to have him play at Wrigley.
  7. I want everyone to know that it is possible to "heart" your own posts...
  8. She was hot "Ah Doug...Douglas you silly thing!"
  9. While I think it's a crap play and should be illegal, that rule only covers a fielder trying to field a batted ball, not catching a throw. If the rule is going to be that toothless, it needs to be changed (I have hope it will be this off-season, but as resistant to change the MLB is, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't) Has anyone even seen this rule enforced at all since it was implemented? I haven't I want to say that I vaguely remember this rule being enforced against the Cubs once this season, but I'm not certain.
  10. Pedro should replace all ex-athlete talking heads on all networks for everything, forever. LOL. The 180 Gary just did is [expletive] ridiculous.
  11. I can't believe anyone is defending that slide. I say next time Utley does some non sense like that again, I support the SS doing a Liu Kang style flying kick, cleat first, into Utley's face. Bonus points for bicycle kicks if they were thinking ahead and holding low kick.
  12. To sum it up, he was safe because Tejada never touched the base, and the neighborhood play didn't apply because the throw pulled him off the bag (?!)...and as for why he was safe when he never touched the bag...see above shrug.
  13. Jesus, that official MLB explanation they just gave makes that, officially, the worst call (at least at this big of a stage) I have ever seen.
  14. The thing is, Maddon would have protested the call at 2nd 100% of the time. It really is more of a fail of the Mets management than it is a blown call.
  15. That was the plan, but since both Garcia and Lynn pitched today, and didn't log a bunch of pitches, its anyone's guess at this point.
  16. I didn't even realize a non-afternoon game was possible. Triples the intensity that I was going to root for the Texans already. Wait, now I'm very confused. How does them winning keep us from playing in the afternoon? I assumed non-competition would bump the Cubs to primetime? You would think so, but nope. The Cubs are either the 2nd game out of o3 or the 3rd game out of 4. The 3rd game out of 4 makes it just a slightly later start time. on the flip side, if the Mets sweep does that mean the Cubs get the late game for game 4? Uhhhg. I'm in Mountain time zone, and I'm not quite enough of a slacker for that early of a start time to let me watch the start. The only bonus is that my supervisor and another boss-like-person are Card fans, so I'll conspire to get us to either watch at work somehow, or take off early.

  19. Fangraphs has the Cubs at 100% to win this game. :jester:
  20. The way that the K-zone has gone this series, I seriously wonder if the fix is in.
  21. Just the fact that this is true, and we might get out of Stl with a split and a win over Pitt is ridiculous.
  22. If I may, there are plenty of bandwagon Cardinal fans. They're the ones who you see taking selfies during the games and are in the party rooms at the stadium eating and drinking and paying 0 attention to the game. Of course the club loves them because, let's face it, they don't make near as much $$ w/o them. I don't consider a fan a die hard because he happens to have enough money to go to the park often so he can be seen. I like fans who still watch the games on TV when they're down 8-4 in the 9th. Are you saying you like fans who cheer for their team the right way?
