  1. Other teams think its the Astros. The Cardinals have a really strong feeling it's the Astros This is just an amazing post It is so amazing that I didn't get the reference at first.
  2. about that... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/rankings/top-100-prospects/2012/2612998.html #42 and #89 amuse me.
  3. Ehhhhh, yeah. But what does that mean? It means we should build a team that is good at winning a lot of baseball games instead of tailoring it to fit a made up ideal that will win playoff series.
  4. The 2015 Nats want to have a chat with you, Cubbie Swagger. (Not that a single regular season outcome proves anything...let alone a dozen playoff games...so nevermind)
  5. Wittenmeyer just wants the Cubs to make a big splash so he can obsess over everything they do, and remind us of how much money they make every time they are on the field. http://41.media.tumblr.com/d4e1881f203481b92225f721451486d3/tumblr_nvkpib4SZv1uhfs3jo1_1280.png It probably would have been beneficial for him to program a hot key to paste "$155 Million" on command.
  6. I know this topic has been brought up on this site before, but is it possible to quantify how hard his historically BS called strike zone messed up his offensive numbers this season? How much better can we expect him to look when sliders and fastballs a foot off the plate don't turn into strike 3s? How much more power can he generate when he's not protecting that part of the zone? Would his grin become even sexier?
  7. I'm with Theo where he said, and I quote "Our bullpen is currently better than mediocre, and that is how I like it. Starting pitcher FA ftw!"
  8. Yeah, he has to reach too far down to get to grounders or some such non sense. It was the punch line to most scouting reports that didn't like Bryant's defense at 3B.
  9. So gigantic and so effortless. Nothing forced. It just flows like a torrent. https://www.facebook.com/vlsports/videos/876187785770383/
  10. No people, just Felix My parents don't know jack about FIP or anything like that, and so they despise Strop. I'm sure they are not alone. What I don't understand is why people can't identify that his stuff is [expletive] filthy. Nearly Marmol in his prime unhittable when he's right.
  11. Pales in comparison to the old cubs.com boards.
  12. ...I read something over there where they mentioned a Confroto. NEVER heard that word before. Is that a new fungo bat manufacturer?
  13. Hmm. I'll try to watch the game from there. I'll PM you if I get permission to go.
  14. Sitting in a seat for multiple hours does sound painfully tedious. If you're as tall as me it's pretty much a form of torture I dunno. I'm 6'1 and my knees are made of stale shredded wheat, but I get by ok.
  15. Sitting in a seat for multiple hours does sound painfully tedious.
  16. I was sick of them after someone linked to that forum where they discussed trading Niece for Baez and Schwarber.
  17. Somehow, Larry King is slightly less animated than Pink Hat Guy.
  18. Am I the only one rooting for the Dodgers so I am less likely to have to see Soler wear that stupid lycra hoodie thingy?
  19. I know this isn't a new idea, but I'm surprised no one mentioned the Baez to 3B and Bryant to CF idea in this recent conversation.
  20. hmm...first post, with ambiguous text and a scrambled web link. should I click it?!? :-k Don't leave me in suspense! Was it for jimmy pills?!
  21. Are we sure that Twitter didn't autocorrect the word "dong" to be "dog"? If he meant dong, then it could have been named "Major Cardinal Heartbreak". Strangely, this idea was also posted in the game thread.
  22. Nearly as good as that inning was. I really miss firejoemorgan.com In fact, firejoemorgan was so great it actually offset the miserable existence of the actual Joe Morgan. Yin and Yang or something or other.
  23. . The cardinals are presented with the MLB crown immediately upon completion of the regular season. (Note: it's a real [expletive] crown with jewels and stuff, not some [expletive], loser metaphor.) Remaining teams are allowed to play a for second place. The "winning team" is awarded a framed photo of Stan Musial receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Remaining teams get participation ribbons. So he's cool with their 2011 title, even though it was a wildcard one? It only proves his point, somehow. Ipso fatso
