I was on team "DFA Castro, he's worthless" during mid season. When I heard he was traded immediately after signing Zobrist, I assumed it was a total salary dump. The more I read about Warren (especially the Fangraphs pitch fx breakdown) the more glad I am that I am not in charge of the Cubs. Stuff-wise, Warren is probably our #4 SP. And a good one at that!
Yeah, put Miller and Warren next to each other and stare at them for a while. Give your eyes a rest and then put Castro (and his contract) next to Inciarte, Swanson, and Blair. Ponder this. (Also, Harris, I guess)
Other teams think its the Astros. The Cardinals have a really strong feeling it's the Astros This is just an amazing post It is so amazing that I didn't get the reference at first.
Ehhhhh, yeah. But what does that mean? It means we should build a team that is good at winning a lot of baseball games instead of tailoring it to fit a made up ideal that will win playoff series.
The 2015 Nats want to have a chat with you, Cubbie Swagger. (Not that a single regular season outcome proves anything...let alone a dozen playoff games...so nevermind)
Wittenmeyer just wants the Cubs to make a big splash so he can obsess over everything they do, and remind us of how much money they make every time they are on the field. http://41.media.tumblr.com/d4e1881f203481b92225f721451486d3/tumblr_nvkpib4SZv1uhfs3jo1_1280.png It probably would have been beneficial for him to program a hot key to paste "$155 Million" on command.
I know this topic has been brought up on this site before, but is it possible to quantify how hard his historically BS called strike zone messed up his offensive numbers this season? How much better can we expect him to look when sliders and fastballs a foot off the plate don't turn into strike 3s? How much more power can he generate when he's not protecting that part of the zone? Would his grin become even sexier?
Yeah, he has to reach too far down to get to grounders or some such non sense. It was the punch line to most scouting reports that didn't like Bryant's defense at 3B.
No people, just Felix My parents don't know jack about FIP or anything like that, and so they despise Strop. I'm sure they are not alone. What I don't understand is why people can't identify that his stuff is [expletive] filthy. Nearly Marmol in his prime unhittable when he's right.
Sitting in a seat for multiple hours does sound painfully tedious. If you're as tall as me it's pretty much a form of torture I dunno. I'm 6'1 and my knees are made of stale shredded wheat, but I get by ok.
