  1. well, he made a nice defensive play if that helps. maybe the cubs can get him back to replace ramirez. it would be good to see some hustle from the 3b position. He does run to the dugout pretty quickly after he makes out
  2. Well welcome to the board at least
  3. They aren't even showing replays of the Pudge shot in the groin. I can't blame them though.
  4. DLee sure did. When the Cubs got him I remember him stinking up the playoffs. I am sure glad he turned it around.
  5. They just announced an extension. Any homer for the rest of the game counts.
  6. How about a homerun and America gets tacos!
  7. San Francisco is giving up more points than anyone in the league though. I'd put GB right there with them.
  8. Carpenter almost got nailed by a shattered bat. With the type of wood they are using and the skinny handles, someone is going to get impailed.
  9. Did anyone catch the Chevy Silverado commercial about 30 minutes ago? It was the first fully Spanish commercial I have ever seen on network TV. Was that commercial on in your area?
  10. its amazing that the announcers are this bad. I have to admit though, that the casual fan needs this crap to be interested. Well just wait for the Bears game this weekend. Fox is bringing back Pat Summerall.
  11. I am all for him swinging away if it is in his zone, but on that pitch? If it is 3-0 chances are you won't get a good pitch to hit. It happened once, but I don't know if it happens percentage-wise.
  12. That was ball four but still a great piece of hitting. I know it is Pujols, but if I am the manager and he lines out on that pitch I give him a piece of my mind. Man he is good though. I would give him the Bonds treatment this entire series. Well so far the guys in front of Pujols aren't getting on so the Tigers haven't had to make many tough decisions. It will be interesting to see what happens the rest of the series.
  13. That was ball four but still a great piece of hitting. I know it is Pujols, but if I am the manager and he lines out on that pitch I give him a piece of my mind. Man he is good though.
  14. Dusty didn't get on him for slumping. That's when Dusty decided to platoon him. Dusty got on him early in the season for being too patient. It was after that Murton's AVG started slipping. I'm sorry. I meant to say patient but I instead said slumping. I guess it sounds like Murton was being too patient but was nonetheless still putting up decent numbers, Dusty got on him, and the results weren't good.
  15. When Dusty got on Murton for slumping, was his average declining?
  16. It doesn't hurt that he has PJ Brown to help him out too. How is his jump shot? Is he a 3 or a 4?
  17. In an effort to start the game on time, the National Anthem has been getting moved up. If the game starts at 7, the National Anthem will start at 6:55. Obviously what happened tonight was a little different because they jsut skipped it, but I heard that they are moving it up to start the games at the posted times.
  18. That writer should be ashamed of himself if he saw Baker up close as a San Francisco manager. I bet anyone $100 bucks that Beane doesn't hire him. Can you image Baker telling his players not to clog up the bases?
  19. He had another huge dunk tonight even though the Bulls barely lost their first game of the preseason. Asked to comment, Denny Green said "The TWolves knew who the Bulls were!"
  20. A basehit only scores one unless it is a double if you don't bunt. Which is easier: a double, 2 singles, or a bunt and a hit. I say a bunt and a hit.
  21. Yeah, I liked how he made the block to start a fast break then ran the court and finished it off with a dunk. He looks like he's going to be a pretty special player. Thank you Isaiah Thomas. Now the Knicks need one mroe losing season because the Bulls can switch picks with them again next year if Paxson wants to. Thomas played bad for three quarters, and then turned it on. The Bulls have to have one of the deepest teams in the league. What is the guard they want to keep but have no room for? The guy who made the last second shot in game one? Baxter?
  22. CROWN THEIR ASSES THEN!
  23. Man the team is looking good, as in contending for the eastern title good. I know it is early, but their defense is rock solid. Drafting and acquiring quality players is making for a great team.
  24. On the B/B show yesterday there was one caller who said that they won't pay Rex but will give the $ to Briggs. B/B laughed that off and said that they wouldn't groom Grossman just to let him go. They have been extra patient with him through the injuries. The caller also said that Griese is helping out Orton who is the heir apparent. Weird stuff on that show, but I love B/B. They bring sanity to Chicago sports radio.
  25. For all of the flack Rothschild got over the towel drill, I did it in high school and I thought it was a good training device. You can simulate actually throwign the ball, but using a towel puts lets strain on your arm so you can work on mechanics and the throwing motion while decreasing stress. Those who bash it have never tried it.
