  1. The other 10 teams in the Big 10 say please.
  2. Somebody's got a fan!! And I agree with IMB.
  3. Duh    All I was saying is watch him get 5 wins against the Cubs and sucks against the rest of the world.. Nah wasn't aimed at you, just pointing out that we rip on Ponson because in addition to being a fat slob and an alcoholic he's not very good. You don't see us coming up with jokes about Pujols or Rolen.(Edmonds is an exception, I mean come on, JUST LOOK AT HIM!!)
  4. And 5 of them against the Cubs  :( I'll just content myself with Z dominating you guys yet again. Z's three year splits against the Cards: 2.15 ERA, .205 BAA That's known as "filthiness." Zambrano is a great pitcher, no doubt about it. See how easy that is, Cubs fans. No fat jokes....... no racist remarks.......... no gay comments. Give it a shot! Zambrano is a good player. Ponson is not.
  5. What the hell happened to the Cards fans around here?
  6. decent (adj.) An amount of chance ranging from .001% to .01%
  7. Regression, regression, regression. And no I don't have to love a team full of douchebags that I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire.(With a few exceptions)
  8. waste (v) # To use, consume, spend, or expend thoughtlessly or carelessly. To fail to take advantage of or use for profit; lose: waste an opportunity.
  9. Let me also cast my vote in support of Adam Wainwright wasting starts this year.
  10. Try getting called for a T for hanging on the rim in the last 2 minutes when the same exact dunk has been done by all teams all year without one being called. That happened to us last year against Vermont. The real absurdity for Cuse last year was that they drew Vermont in the first round, who I had pegged as an 8 seed.
  11. Detectives believe alcohol was involved.
  12. I hope the Nats put him on the DQ list, just cause I'm really interested to see what the verdict would be when the MLBPA appeals the decision. It'd be quite a landmark decision as there has to be some sort of limit to what you can force a player to do. To one extreme you could have a manager running a pitcher out there every other day to rack up 400 innings on the year and ruin his career or move a fast guy to catcher ruining his legs(These things sound stupid, but GMs/Manages do lots of stupid things) To the other extreme you have the fact that many of the best players are drafted as SS and it just doesn't make sense to not move guys around.
  13. Not just a Womack signing, a Womack TRADE. They actually gave up a warm body for him, while paying his full salary.
  14. Korea wasn't the best team in the tournament. The fact they had the best overall record is irrelevant. Were you complaining about Seattle not being handed the world series title in '01 for their 116 wins?
  15. The worst part about this is the most ridiculous quote didn't come from Morgan, but from Jon Miller. Talking about Ichiro, "Because he was the first Japanese position player, he had more pressure on himself to perform than any other player in baseball history." It also blows my mind how Morgan sat by and let that slide without a peep. Insane.
  16. What about headphones?
  17. That's what I was wondering. If I recall wasn't that a big part of the reason he signed such a reasonable contract? Arroyo left a TON of money on the table with his contract. He signed an 3 year/11.3M deal. He would've got more than the annual salary in first year arbitration alone. They didn't guarantee him he wouldn't be traded, but said they wouldn't shop him, only trade him if somebody bowled them over. I'm quite sure they lied to him. So fine, blame Arroyo for being stupid and not getting a no trade clause for leaving 5M on the table, but don't ever complain about a lack of loyalty from a player when a player like Arroyo went out of his way to be loyal to a team and place that he loved and had his loyalty stomped on and he was sent away.
  18. Well, we weren't really allowed to have our offense on the court due to everyone but Dee being in foul trouble.
  19. Prior - 4/23 Wood - 5/11 Miller - 5/28
  20. Kentucky, St. Joe's, Iowa St., Wichita St., Rutgers, UNC, ODU, BC, and Arizona were all Road/Neutral wins. I don't understand why it matters if the hard games on the road were in conference or non-conference. Are you honestly arguing that any of the ACC teams that missed the tourney are as good as the 6 Big 10 teams that made it? Are you arguing that those 6 big 10 teams weren't quality road opponnents?
  21. 65-11 nonconference record for the Big 10 tourney teams. Good wins: Georgetown Wichita St.(twice) UNC LSU St. Joe's Kentucky(twice) NC St. Marquette NC-Wilmington UW-Milwaukee Arizona Boston College Bad losses: Hawaii Indiana St. Wake Forest North Dakota St. Iowa St. Doesn't look that poor to me.
  22. To clarify from earlier, I wasn't hinting at a reffing conspiracy, just in the same way that refs will call a game tight to prevent physical games from getting out of hand, I think it's possible refs operating on the misconception that Big 10 teams are dirty or physical decided to call it tight on them, to the point that Illinois wasn't allowed to play defense. People that are ragging on Illinois fans as complainers, I just really have to wonder if you even watched the game or are just that blinded by hatred for Illinois. I've had games before where I thought U of I was screwed over by calls, then looked back over things and realized I was being a homer. I re-watched the entire game today, and that 2nd half was just flat out criminal. If Washington was Duke everybody and their mother would be on the refs calling it typical pro-Duke bias but since it was 2 teams that nobody cared about nationally, it was blown off.
  23. Yeah noted Illini fans CubsfaninCA and Outshined_One really let them have it.
  24. I really wish Enberg or Bilas would've said something during the game, it seemed like they were buying into the reffing. Glad to see no U of I fans voice their displeasure with the reffing here, it was honestly the worst officiated game I've ever seen. People have told me to get over it cause they weren't gonna beat UConn anyways, but that's so far off from the point. To see the season end like that is just flat out criminal. To have that feeling that your season was taken away from you is about as empty as you can possibly feel. Couple quesitons: Since the game was on the West Coast were those Pac-10 refs? Does anyone else think maybe before the tourney started refs were warned about the Big 10's physical style of play and that they should try and nip it in the bud before they got out of hand?? I'd just really love some sort of explanation for the absolute heist that's gone on here.
