    Yes. He should be in the Hall, regardless of being shy of 500. If Bags gets in, it has to open the door for a lot of other marginal guys. Tied for 30th all time in OPS+ The only active guys ahead of him are Bonds, Pujols, and Manny. Career OBP over 400. 6 top 10 MVP finishes (1 win) Not great, but solid enough glove at 1st that he wasn't embarrassing. Longevity up until the recent injuries with 2150 games played. 24th best season of all time according to OPS+ in '94. Top 50 all time in AB/HR, Power/Speed, IBB, SF, HBP, Times on Base, XBH, RC, OPS+, BB, RBI, HR, OPS, SLG%, and OBP. While just missing (51st, 54th, and 55th respectively) on 2B, R, and TB. I don't see the argument against him. You think Thomas doesn't belong either?

    Wait, where are you getting the idea this is the case? Signing Rusch, the talks of acquring another starter all offseason long, the reluctance to put him in the rotation last year, the rumors of how expendable they viewed him all offseason. It's like they thought Aardsma was the key cog to the Hawkins deal.

    I have a hard time seeing some of those underclassmen coming back after they've boosted their stock with a final 4 run. The rumors that I'm hearing here is that they all intend to come back. Along with LaMarcus Aldridge? I'll believe it when their names aren't called on draft day.

    Been good in the previous years? Keeping Pagan or Grissom around because they can back up CF is a horrible waste. Hairston isn't great out there but he can pass for it to give Pierre 10 games off for the year.

    They probably stole it from me cause I say No doubt all the time. It's called compensation. When someone has to tell you how honest they are, you can bet they're dirty. And when someone keeps saying no doubt about it, you can bet they are full of doubts. I HAVE NO SELF ESTEEM!

    uh, it wasn't a signing. they purchased his contract from the mets. if they lose him, oh no - a few thousand dollars lost. big deal. But they won't give up on him. He's gonna clog a spot on the 40 man for no damn reason.

    lol. You'll be happy to know that he's be assigned to AAA Round Rock. It looks like Buchholz has the 5th spot locked up. I keep praying that Steve Sparks is going to be released. Steve Sparks is still alive? If you were a left-handed knuckleballer who was an emergency catcher would you not have to retire til you were like 78?

    Do players get additional options if they are traded? Nope. Acquiring anybody for our 40 man roster right now just makes no sense unless they're a big difference maker. The 40 man is already full and Miller and possibly Grissom need to fit on there somehow. That Pagan signing was really stupid.

    To clarify, I was in no way supporting the drafting of Paul Davis. I'm just that against the drafting of Glen Davis.

    That 3rd one is hideous. The 1st one, pretty much every Cub fan I know has, so I wouldn't get it, but you don't have to worry that much about having similar hats I'd imagine.

    Whoops, I wound up confusing this thread with the basketball thread on another board I was posting on. I thought the previous poster had said that about UW. The actual Final 4 teams record in my bracket(Records of FL, GM, LSU, and UCLA in my picks): 3-4 This is the first time I can remember not having a single final 4 team right. At least I was in it til last night.

    I merely responded to somebody making the ridiculous claim that Washington deserved to be in the Final 4. I don't see the point in letting that slide by. I didn't see the game, so I will refrain from commenting on it. There is no guarantee, however, than UofI would have advanced any farther than the next game had they won, so it's really beating a dead horse now. Wasn't my argument, I'm quite sure UConn's bigs would've destroyed Illinois, but to say Washington should be in the Final 4 is just plain wrong.

    Maybe my SD St. problem was overstated, but Mason IS LOCATED IN DC. No team other than a 1 should get a game in their home city/next door city.

    I agree too - though NC didn't play any better, they were just ridiculously talented. Had Illinois not lost their composure and run their offense, they should have won that game. I would have to say that the four teams today were far better than those yesterday. That UCLA win was an awful awful game. Plus, how did a 1 seed end up playing a road game in the elite eight? UCLA never should have been in that region. If that's the case, Gonzaga shouldn't have been in Oakland either. And Mason certainly shouldn't have been in DC. And Wilmington with a home game as a 9 seed. Arkansas in Dallas. San Diego St. potentially in Oakland. The committee did a horrible job this year, the problem is, stupid talking heads like Packer ripped them for the things they actually did right like the MVC and CAA teams.
