    OF is really easy to pick up, but I'd trust the guy that's played it at some point in his professional career over the one who probably hasn't played it since he was about 6.

    If said manager had Derrek Lee on the team with him it's quite likely he would. The Cardinal organization would go ballistic if ANYBODY stuck Albert in the outfield. You guys can have your imaginary fun, but in reality, it would NEVER happen. Pujols would start at first base, and Derrek Lee would be a pinch-hitter extraordinaire. The Ranger organization would go ballistic if ANYBODY stuck Alex Rodriguez at third base. You can have your imaginary fun, but in reality it would NEVER happen.     Projections for standings really only seem to have value for placement, and not for wins since everything is regressed to the mean. If the Pirates and Reds combine for 157 wins I'll eat my hat.

    You've been listening to Skip Bayless? haven't you? He said the same thing about Morrison.I would never agree with Skip unless I felt very strongly about something, and I feel very strongly that Morrison's game won't translate well to the NBA. (I did not know that Skip said that) Bulls choke. Again. This is going to be a "who wants it least" race for the 8th seed. What's wrong with Morrison's game? I think he will do fine. He won't be a star, but I can see him having a long career and getting 12-15 a game pretty consistently. You don't spend a top 3 pick on the potential to be Keith Van Horn.

    I believe he's an NBA assistant now. He was a head coach in the CBA at one time, but I don't believe the CBA exists anymore. I think the NBA's developmental league replaced it. As a Cuse fan, I'm sure Smart is your favorite player ever. :D Isn't the demise of the CBA on Isaiah Thomas' resume? Makes his job destroying the Knicks cake.

    Conference RPIs dating back to '99 (kenpom.com) MAC: 16, 10, 14, 11, 12, 15, 12, 11 AVG = 12.625 CAA: 10, 14, 13, 17, 11, 13, 16, 17 AVG = 13.875 Pretty small difference over the years he has listed, and the farthest away 2 years(least significant) really skew the data as the leagues are matched perfectly in RPI going back just 6 years. By Team: UNCW: 28, 105, 135, 51, 60, 89, 124, 189 AVG = 97.625 BSU: 254, 119, 146, 137, 78, 144, 44, 117 AVG = 129.875

    Yes. He should be in the Hall, regardless of being shy of 500. If Bags gets in, it has to open the door for a lot of other marginal guys. Tied for 30th all time in OPS+ The only active guys ahead of him are Bonds, Pujols, and Manny. Career OBP over 400. 6 top 10 MVP finishes (1 win) Not great, but solid enough glove at 1st that he wasn't embarrassing. Longevity up until the recent injuries with 2150 games played. 24th best season of all time according to OPS+ in '94. Top 50 all time in AB/HR, Power/Speed, IBB, SF, HBP, Times on Base, XBH, RC, OPS+, BB, RBI, HR, OPS, SLG%, and OBP. While just missing (51st, 54th, and 55th respectively) on 2B, R, and TB. I don't see the argument against him. You think Thomas doesn't belong either?

    Wait, where are you getting the idea this is the case? Signing Rusch, the talks of acquring another starter all offseason long, the reluctance to put him in the rotation last year, the rumors of how expendable they viewed him all offseason. It's like they thought Aardsma was the key cog to the Hawkins deal.

    I have a hard time seeing some of those underclassmen coming back after they've boosted their stock with a final 4 run. The rumors that I'm hearing here is that they all intend to come back. Along with LaMarcus Aldridge? I'll believe it when their names aren't called on draft day.
