  1. Updating since Elconq missed this one. The old man just hit into a DP after Pujols was walked. Hey that's almost even on topic!!
  2. Some 7 year old kid in an Eckstein jersey just hit one too.
  3. pick Pujols everyday like me. That's a great way of guaranteeing no chance at 100,000.
  4. I'm not a fan of your bullpen as Valverde and Miceli seem shaky at best. That said, I'd still make the trade. As you mention, Papelbon has the chance of being a starter later in the year, which is going to hurt your saves total eventually anyways. And I love Bedard. A good starter > A good reliever and I think that's what it boils down to.
  5. So you're saying he IS back to being Jacque then.
  6. Segregation and PEDs are 2 different issues. Unless we're talking Cap Anson, it's hard to fault an old player for playing against the competition he was put against.
  7. You missed a few topics. SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS MY FRIEND!!
  8. Good, now the old guy is hitting 175. Besides HRs off of Victor Santos are only worth half-credit.
  9. Why do you believe secondhand accounts of illegally leaked grand jury testimony, but not firsthand accounts from an eyewitness/collaborator. Like I said, I'm not sure WHAT to believe. Personally, I'd let Bonds, McGwire, AND Sosa in the Hall of Fame. McGwire has been scrutinized plenty, and so has Bonds. I'm not sure what the Fox reporter was getting at. It's not like people haven't taken shots at McGwire. Well I'll agree with you on one thing....McGwire, Sosa and Bonds are all linked. Either they all go or none do. I say none. You say all. While I disagree, it's just a matter of interpreting the evidence and the what we want in an HOF inductee differently. What about the players who used amphetamines?

  11. Knew you couldn't finish your post without that. For the talk about SF reporters doing the work to find Bonds guilty, you can't compare it to McGwire or most anybody else. Bonds appeared in front of a grand jury. Reporters don't have that luxury with McGwire, et al. Why don't they have that luxury? Could it be because McGwire isn't connecting himself to shady characters? If you can't make the connection, then don't make the accusation. Find something to back up what you're saying, or stop saying it. That's all I'm saying. McGwire wasn't dealing with people dumb enough to get caught(if he was doing anything illegal) I'm not indicting McGwire, just saying it's disingenuous to say that if McGwire did anything wrong the evidence must be out there since Bonds's evidence has been found(according to grand jury testimony)
  12. Johnson doesn't have the innings to be above Maddux or Clemens. I'm not convinced Pedro's going to be able to hold up long enough to pass either of them. Pedro has had no decline phase yet, so it's really hard to compare. In order for me to put him in the conversation, he'd need ~1000 more innings at the rate or slightly below what he's performed at thus far.
  13. i liked flipping the bat 12 feet in the air. how does he not get drilled in the head for doing that? Because if you drill him in the head, then he'll hit the ball 600 feet his next time at bat, and do a jig all the way around the bases. With Pujols, you can't win. Unless you're already up 8-0. Then you win. Or if you're the Cubs.
  14. You're not ignoring. What does that make you? BUT COME ON!!! HE WINKED!!!

  16. Somebody asked Vance a question in a chat?
  17. I don't even understand this response. LAME.
  18. Mike Cameron wound up being part of the Griffey deal. Hard to complain about him only playing for 1 year, when he wound up traded for the premier player in the game.
  19. The Cardinals have played there 6 TIMES Something tells me they don't have the intricacies of the ballpark down. There is a homefield advantage, but it's no different than it is in any other park.[/b]
  20. Anyone else hear anything about this rumor? Bruce you here to confirm?
  21. Oh? When do the Cubs play the Pirates next? Well, the Cards better get their wins against the Pirates this week, because it'll be another Cubs 3 games, Cards ) this weekend. You really think the Cubs are going to sweep, again? In a park they have never played in before? I wouldn't bet on that. In two of the games at Wrigley, the Cubs needed the Cards bullpen to blow it late. I wouldn't bank on that again. I'm looking forward to it. There are many reasons why the Cubs probably won't sweep the Cards in St. Louis. The fact that they're playing in a park they've never played in is not one of them. It might not be the most likely reason, but it is a reason nonetheless. Especially with an afternoon game on Saturday. The sun is brutal for afternoon games and the players say it takes some getting used to. No it isn't. The Cards will have played roughly 6 games there heading into the series. The home field advantage is no different than if it was a park they've played in for 40 years.

  23. I'm always up for organized baseball(and had to skip my summer league this year due to work) but getting 16 more people to agree might be tough.
  24. but restovich isnt on the 40 man roster Neither is Dubois.
  25. We already have Jason Dubois in AAA. He changed his name to Mike Restovich.
