  1. I have no clue if anything ahppened to Randle, I just noticed he played all of 9 minutes.
  2. Somebody please alleviate my fears and tell me Brian Randle didn't hurt himself.
  3. Depends on your definition of crushed, but I don't see ND getting crushed by either Michigan or OSU. I think they'd even make a game of it against Michigan. Problem is, ND was already crushed by Michigan this year and was crushed by OSU at the end of last year. Notre Dame is a horribly flawed team. Their defense isn't that good and they can't run the ball effectively to save their lives. I'm not saying ND would get crushed if they faced OSU or UM again but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they did. ND lost by 14 points to OSU and the game wasn't over until there were 2 minutes left. They gave up a lot of yards, but they were not crushed.
  4. That was his only shot and he didn't get it and he won't get the Yankees job either. He withdrew his name, the Nats didn't spurn him.
  5. 2nd on the part about there being no chance in hell any premier FA takes 3 years. Soriano, Drew, Lee, Schmidt, Zito, probably Matthews are all looking at 4 years minimum. This is their big payday, and it's coming at a time when MLB is flush with cash. There's no sense in taking a short term deal and risking that teams are still going to have a huge surplus to spend on a player who would then be past his prime.
  6. After watching my teams get spanked by one and then an onside recovery away from driving for the tie against the other, I've deduced that those 2 games probably have little to do with this outcome. That said, Michigan: 30 OSU: 14

  8. I'd love me some Michigan(+6.5)
  9. Wow, that is absolutely ridiculous. I just cannot fathom paying that much for one unproven player in the MLB. they'll make it back and then some in t-shirt sales alone. Aren't all merchandise sales redistributed equally to all 30 teams?
  10. Except LoDuca, Kendall, and Posada are all horrible defensive catchers.
  11. We'll see if that was the byproduct of the GM or the ownership. Hunsicker is competent, but if he's under mandate from ownership to attempt to recreate the Kazmir deal whenever possible, well, yeah. It's different ownership now too.
  12. So if Tree does well on his test, Hendry will do well the rest of the offseason?
  13. Even if it opens the door for Notre Dame in the title game? :)
  14. Sorry, didn't read your part at the bottom of your post. When I saw the -------------- I just assumed it was your sig. A lot of time has passed since the Congressional hearings, along with it a lot of smearing. I don't think the witchhunt was quite as intense then.(When I'm referring to a witchhunt, I'm almost always talking about the braindead sports media, take no offense from it)
  15. I have no clue what you were getting at with your post FegieJ. But I don't think the fact that Sosa doesn't speak great english is reason to accuse him of steroids. I think we all heard in the 10+ years Sammy was here that he was not a master of the english language, the fact that he used an interpreter and gave brief answers is the same thing I would do if I didn't have a mastery of another language. No need to give the witchhunters more ammo by accidentally saying something you didn't mean.
  16. Dear Michigan, Blow out OSU by about 65 points. Oh and West Carolina and Mississippi St. Do your thing.
  17. If your career was over, and every time your name was mentioned in the media there was a sidenote about steroid use, wouldn't you be kind of pissed off? Wouldn't you want to argue for yourself that you're clean? If Sosa sits back and rests on his laurels, there may not be a Cooperstown, because he was already hung at the gallows.
  18. The way the polls work, you'd probably be around 6 or 7 right now. It'll probably take a Texas loss next week(and subsequent OU title game win) just to get OU in the top 10 by the end of the year. Making things worse is that Oregon has gone in the tank since that game making the "loss" look worse. If it helps, I don't think there'd be enough of a perfect storm to put OU in the title game in that situation.
  19. I was just going to pust what nd posted. You're absolutely right IMB. I believe it goes the other way as well(Beating a team not expected to do much in your first game, then they go on to be really good.(USC/Arkansas this year) Though maybe pollsters are coming around in some ways. ND hasn't simply jumped everyone they were behind when they lost because voters looked back, saw that MSU, Purdue, and Penn St. aren't as good as some may have been thinking when ND played them. Additionally, if Rutgers beats West Virginia, I really think they'll go to #3 at worst.
  20. Can anybody clarify something I thought I heard earlier in the season. I rememberred hearing that no 6-6 team could get invited to a bowl unless all 7-5 or better teams were invited first? Is that true, cause if it is people making a big deal about a team being bowl eligible with 6 wins isn't really true. This may only apply to conference tie in games though, or I may have just completely made it up.
  21. The ESPN poll is just a poll where users rank the teams themselves, therefore it's ever changing. Especially in the early going. ND has since fallen down to 7, Florida jumped up to 4. West Virginia still for some reaosn ahead of Louisville.
  22. Lou called ND the surest bet to finish 11-1 among the 1 loss teams. Wisconsin is presently 10-1 and is playing Buffalo in their final game. And people, PLEASE STOP VOTING FOR GEORGIA
  23. With each team playing gimmes next week before finishing with good teams, I think ND might have enough to hold off Arkansas. Unless they struggle with Army while Arkansas blows out Mississippi St., I can't see Arkansas picking up any votes on ND over the next 2 weeks should both win out. With the difference being 25 votes(likely more with a win at USC compared to a home win against LSU), I think ND has a reasonable chance of not getting passed by them with the SEC title game.
  24. Remember that one year Manny hit 40 homeruns? Because, of course, anyone who uses steroids becomes a superstar slugger. When the evidence against Sosa appears to be he became a superstar slugger, I think it's valid to talk about Manny Alexander's explosive power. Oh and the he cheated using a corked bat excuse, because I speed when I drive. I also murder people I guess.
  25. 1. OSU 2. Michigan 3. USC 4. Florida 5. Notre Dame 6. Rutgers 7. Arkansas 8. Louisville 9. West Virginia 10. Wisconsin 11. Auburn 12. Boise St. 13. Cal 14. LSU 15. Texas 16. Georgia Tech 17. Oklahoma 18. Wake Forest 19. Nebraska 20. Maryland 21. Tennessee 22. BC 23. BYU 24. Hawaii 25. Houston
