  1. This is awesome.
  2. Yeah the reason he made an error was because he was thinking about his next article.
  3. How the hell was the 2004 ALCS not on that list? Without a doubt, that was the biggest comeback in sports history. I officially cast doubt.
  4. Probably because they know most Cubs fans are idiots, would hear the word cortisone shot and assume he needs TJS. Who cares? This is a non-story.
  5. Who cares? I don't know what you guys would do if you ever actually had to live around here.
  6. Mackey Sasser, and no I'm not worried.
  7. Unless your field is professional sports, it really isn't comparable. People always try and compare sports to their jobs. It's a different world and no matter how competitive your field is, it doesn't make your day to day job anything like a professional baseball player.
  8. Why in the heck would you just want it over? Just win one game at a time. It has been done before. Exactly. Win game 3 (which we should) and you're talking about having to win 2 games over 3 days, one in L.A. one in Chicago. Neither would be poor pitching matchups. I'm as disappointed as anyone and am not overly optimistic but I sure as hell don't just want it over. Why does everyone say this? We should have won game 1 and 2 as well. There is nothing that this team is doing right now that makes me believe we should win any more games this year. Rich Harden vs. Hiroki Kuroda is a huge advantage. Ryan Dempster vs. Derek Lowe and Carlos Zambrano vs. Chad Billingsley is not.
  9. Or the Dodgers will continue to clean the Cubs' clock. There would be a run to the bat rack. Harden deserves this start and not to give it to him is a fireable offense. I wasn't agreeing with the not starting Harden stuff, just throwing some stuff out that you know the media will eat up. Kind of "reverse bulletin board material." Not a real large chance it makes any difference, but its an interesting idea that could be worth a shot (I mean what do you have to lose). An elimination game.
  10. Teflon Theriot strikes again!!
  11. I thought HRs were a good thing. Walks too. The Dodgers have 3 more hits than us in this series and have beat the living [expletive] out of us.
  12. Why are you benching Jim Edmonds?
  13. Pretty much. Freak accident. You best friend is pinned under a car and is going to die if you can't lift it. What do you do? Get in there and give everything you have to lift that car? or Sit back and say sorry dude, there isn't anyway I'm going to lift that car off of you. I think a better analogy is do you sit back and say this sucks, or do you yell at the car to get off of him.
  14. 3 throwing errors from a second baseman. That is very impressive.
  15. Anybody got the link to Aramis Fan's Cubs-Rockies video?
  16. Doing something nonsensical because it's different is a bad idea. Starting your 5th best starter in an elimination game is nonsensical. Calling your best pitcher Mr. softee because he's had injury problems is nonsensical. Yeah take that Mr. Softee, now go out there and throw 150 pitches, and enjoy next year off! Starting Reed Johnson vs. a righty even though he's proven he can't hit them is nonsensical. The OP's plan is taking a dump on the projector. Reed Johnson vs. RHP: .280 .323 .398 .721 Kosuke Fukudome vs. RHP: .251 .355 .388 .742 It's really not a huge difference when you take into account Kosuke's numbers are weighted by his April. That's assuming Reed is starting in Kosuke's spot. How bout Blanco starting then.
  17. There's never enough mocking of Arizona: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2306121461_ea555157f2_o.jpg Yeah but beating a Kevin O' Neill coached team by 2 should count as a loss.

  19. Dusty Baker hugs have won a playoff game with the Cubs. Just sayin' That none of this has anything to do with anything.
  20. Ths sounds like the worst idea ever.
  21. We played hard against the Mets? Other than game 1 of that series, we couldn't have given 2 howrys. Not that any of this has anything to do with the first 2 games of the NLDS.
  22. I was hoping I'd get to see the term mental midgets somewhere today. Thank you for not disappointing.
  23. Is this like "if the Cubs win game 3, they will have Zambrano in game 4 and anything can happen in game 5 even if Webb is pitching. We really should win this game, Livan Hernandez is starting!"? Is this like HA, if any team's coming back from 3-0 it's certainly not going to be the cursed Red Sox, and definitely not against the mystique of the Yankees. I've said all along we get swept or we win the series. The bats just have to effin wake the F up. Lou could probably afford to calm his ass down too.
  24. Cubs win this, they win the series. (And they should really win this game. Harden's the best or 2nd best pitcher in the NL for a single game.)
