  1. Other than the sweep in Milwaukee, they usually play us tough. Mrs. Lincoln; play. Braun pretty much hits against the Cubs the same way he does against the rest of the league. Fielder does have some really good #s against us.
  2. He's the best manager of my lifetime, and nobody else is particularly close. The only guy who's close for the expansion era would be Durocher, and I'm pretty sure Lou blows him out of the water for not being such an ass.
  3. That Kerry Wood HR is still one of my favorite sports memories ever. If not for the Illinois/Arizona game, it'd be #1. I wish I was a true Illinois fan so that I could claim that experience as one of my own. That was such an amazing comeback. At least I experienced it vicariously with fans who live and die by Illini basketball. I'm a way bigger Cubs fan than I am anything else, but I'm not even sure being there for a run of the mill Cubs World Series win would match being at that Illinois game. Of course if it was like a walk off HR in extra innings to win it, I'd probably poo myself.

  5. I'll pee on your shirt and untuck your pants...
  6. I dreamt we got swept again last night. We played the D-Backs though, which is why I haven't hung myself yet.
  7. Vote. And April matters just as much as every other month.
  8. Dodgers with Manny have a worse record than the Mets did in that timeframe.
  9. Isn't that you? I already crossed off the state of Illinois from my list. It's the other 48 that I'm concerned with.
  10. Blago had no choice, he was getting booed before he even took the stage. Cheap pops were his only chance. He was pretty dreadful though. Kinda embarrassing having 2 guys in a row call him Crane Kennedy too. Oh well, it was an excuse to leave the office for an hour. Were you the guy getting taken away in cuffs Brian?
  11. Agreed it's freezing out. I was pretty surprised to see Derrek Lee there, and felt kinda bad for Sean and the Hoff.
  12. Hoff was at the rally, I'd imagine he's on.
  13. Well it makes sense if you consider what they're paying Joel Piniero fair market value.
  14. Depressed people are stupid.
  15. The Dodgers star studded offense gets to feast on our weak starting pitching too. Dodgers ERA away from LA: 4.73
  16. So the cubs lose this series, then? Have you ever been positive in your entire life? Of course. Just not about our ballclub. You realize we were the best team in the NL this year, right? Pessimism has little to do with records and performance. Pessimism is a frame of mind. The Cubs could have gone 162-0 and somehow due to an odd set of circumstances drew the Sioux Falls, SD little league team, and people would still be predicting their demise. Then those people are very, very dumb and would rather play up the worst parts of Cubs fandom about some stupid cursed history and 1969 and black cats, and other things that the biggest of idiots in the media and fandom love to never shut up about and give people with a lump of tissue encased in their skull a horrible name. I hope they make sure to pick up their copy of Hoodoo!!! Eff you too Duchie you money grubbing clown.
  17. Have at it, here are the guidelines according to the BBWAA. MVP: 10 spots points awarded 14-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Cy Young: 3 spots awarded 5-3-1 Rookie of the Year: 3 spots awarded 5-3-1 Manager of the year: 3 spots awarded 5-3-1 Voting for Geovany Soto for every spot isn't funny anymore.
  18. Veteran arm. Been there before. Knows how to pitch under pressure. Proven track record. (Assorted garbage)
  19. Go Twins. I believe Dick Stockton is on the call. Cause we definitely need more Dick Stockton in this world.
  20. I believe parking's like 15 bucks. It backs up as you're going in, I'd say 20 minutes to get in. It's right off of 35th, so it's really not too bad.
  21. I'm sure Mike Morgan, Luis Gonzalez, and Miguel Batista rememberred their time in Chicago so fondly that they dedicated their win to Cubs fans.
  22. LAWL at DeWayne Wise.
  23. Ronny doesn't have much trade value. I doubt the Mets trade Reyes or Wright. If they trade any of their stars, it'll be Beltran, which would be really dumb.
  24. I don't understand what they expect to accomplish with it. Like people aren't going to be in the bars celebrating after a final out? Stopping alcohol being sold(not drunk) for one hour is going to do nothing. All it's going to do is spike alcohol sales in the 6th inning.
