    It's not a Yankees-Red Sox rule, the Wild card was instituted in '94 before anybody outside of the Boston-NY area cared about a New York-Boston rivarly. It's setup so a team doesn't beat out a division rival over 162 games and then loses out to them because they lost 3 out of 5.

    Hey, at least he throws strikes which get hit hard. And dont forget he always keeps his cool as he watches the ball sail over his head onto waveland, and remains calm and collected as he serves up the next meatball. That was my ray of hope yesterday, Howry got pissed off and yelled after giving up the HR. Maybe that will convince Lou. Oh no he's not calm anymore, time to go with Gooz!

    I'm guessing that these numbers wouldn't be the same if we just went with August and September...or even just September. The Dodgers pitching has finished a lot stronger than the Cubs, mostly because Zambrano has stunk, and Harden has pitched sparingly. The Dodgers also faced horrible teams, and the Cubs faced good ones. With little to no motivation.

    Meh. MLB washouts have monster years at AAA every year - Dallas McPherson, Mike Hessman, Chris Richard, and Nelson Cruz to name a few this year - but that doesn't mean there aren't any truly talented players in the league. No to mention that Randall Simon and Larry Bigbie never played in Japan.
