  1. Shaving after work today, and putting on the Rich Hill shersey that I wore the day of the clinch.
  2. If I got stuck at work and don't get out on that 445 train, I'm cracking skulls.
  3. the fact that harden is harden should make people concerned. hes more mark prior than kerry wood on the injury scale. And if the talking heads phrased it as that, I'd be more understanding. Instead it's fabricated stories of velocity loss and Will Carroll like baseless speculation.
  4. I'm concerned if people don't shut up about "concerns" about Harden that I'll wind up in jail for assault.
  5. I woulda voted for Fernando Tatis, cause I bet half of you thought he was dead.
  6. Well they have us winning more than half the time we're in the world series, so they've apparently got us as better than them.
  7. Yes, this is the first time I'm a nervous wreck for the playoffs. Years past I was just happy to be there... Me too...I was no where near this nervous. I wasn't even nervous like this for the Super Bowl. I think the last time I was this nervous was before Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS. I wasn't even nervous before the game 7 of the 2003 NLCS. I knew we were toast. We were up 5-3 I believe at one point. Alou hit a HR. I thought we still had a chance when Woody hit the home run, but things quickly dissolved.
  8. He'll go Jordan on us. Only two things they have in common are their number and propensity to cheat on their spouse. And their ability to hit a baseball.
  9. Yeah and Casey McGehee called Lou a jagoff. They were sent home because they had no chance of being injury replacements.
  10. It's not? It was last year. It was also about 5 seconds before live action, so it did me no good.
  11. Maybe we can call thie new age of Cardinals baseball, "New Age of Stupid." There is no way Lohse should had gotten that contract. And the Cards are going to regret it when Lohse becomes the new Kip Wells. I don't think it's all that bad of a deal if they think Duncan figured him out and has him on the right track. He seems to be a classic Duncan guy who pitches to contact down in the zone and doesn't get a ton of Ks. The way they structured the deal, he won't kill them even if he does regress to a little above league average in the last couple years of the del assuming the price of pitching continues to go up. A dangerous assumption IMO.
  12. My softball team is forfeiting our last game of the season because most of us are Cub fans.
  13. just because he's not on the NLDS roster doesn't necessarily mean he won't be on the NLCS or WS roster Ahh, didn't know you could change rosters in between series, I thought it was one set lineup for the entire postseason. I'm pretty certain it's fixed rosters for each series. Meaning, whatever the roster is for the NLDS is set, but it can be changed between the NLDS and NLCS and World Series. Only exception is injured players can be replaced within a series.
  14. Guy at work just told me Haray Caray's was packed at 6 AM. Anyone planning on going to a Wrigleyville bar after work is probably SOL. Those people that are drinking since 6 AM are too.
  15. My Z no-hitter attire. Lou! T-shirt, Fred McGriff home jersey, blue jeans, brown flip flops, Cubs 2007 Division Champs hat.
  16. In a series where 3 games are on the road and 2 are at home does this really matter all that much? It takes one semi-lucky game by the pitchers to completely offset any home field advantage. It also takes one semi-lucky game by a Cubs pitcher to give them a huge home field advantage.
  17. I've never had SRO, but I'm pretty sure the best spots are as far down as you can get. Like towards the OF. Get there when the gates open so you can stake out your spot.
  18. Did you think the coin flips were just for fun? Whatever, I thought it was funny.
  19. That's pretty much the creepiest thing I've ever seen.
  20. As far as the WS is concerned, we could probably get buy with one fewer pitcher thanks to the DH not forcing pitching changes when the bottom of the order comes up. At that point, we could definitely afford to drop Howry or Marquis for Hoffpauir. And you don't need as many position players on the bench for the same reason.
  21. Pix plz when it comes in full Somehow, it managed to grow in about 3 hours. It's like a playoff eve miracle! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b174/kanumber08/Beardfacedamnit.jpg The title of that jpg is awesome.
  22. And he bled to death. Just kidding, it'd be way cooler if he had some sort of terminal illness for like the next 25 years where he was under great suffering.
  23. Wait, why is this in Chicago if Minnesota won the season series?
