    Yep, I bet he hits 4th, or 5th behind Montero. This is a Bryant-level bat, and Maddon wasn't scared about putting Kris directly into the cleanup spot. Not if John Kruk is to be believed. Maddon really wanted him to bat 9th, but knew he would get upset knowing he was below the pitcher.

    Such is the life of a mop up man. Every bullpen has one. And there's no indication that German or Medina would be any better. The main gripe is that people would prefer the awful they don't know to the awful they do. I'm pretty sure the main gripe is that having 9 people in your bullpen at any time is pretty dumb.

    Barney was outrighted to make roster space for Torreyes? That's hilarious. Made more hilarious by the fact that Torreyes had an OPS of .408 between AA and AAA this season.

    We'd be winning the AL East. Just need to keep winning games. Hopefully the rest will work out. Or just the wrong league. I know it's simulations but BP has the Angels with the best simulated record in the AL at the end of the year with 85 wins. BP has 5 NL teams (Wash, StL, Pit, ChC, LAD) with a better projected record plus a sixth (SF) with the same. Fangraphs projections have the best five teams in the NL (same 5 as above) with the Yankees sixth and the Giants seventh. We wouldn't be playing an NL schedule if we were in the AL

    Maybe it would make sense to bring in a stud lefty reliever to face Baxter-Montero-Wood. Luckily the Reds don't have one of those.

    The last 5 games the SP have gone 4, 6 and 5 innings 3 times including 1 extra inning game. Only Strop and Russell should be unavailable.

    Any chance Greinke would accept 4/100? I would do that in a heartbeat. Greinke is better than Lester and will be a year older than he was when we signed him. There's no way he's that cheap.

    He's OPSing .840 in AA, and the Twins starting CF is sitting at .594 The Twins are unexpectedly in contention and don't have time to dick around.
