unless they changed it, isn't it that anyone in the org can replace an injured player on the 25-man? i guess we can just assume the cubs will do the thing where they add an injured player so they can sneak people onto the playoff roster and this is all moot, but you guys know what i was getting at here. also i actually want schwarber in LF aug 1 They dropped the DL requirement. -

Pretty sure they only have to be in the organization. -
If framing stats are to be believed, Jon Lester is probably literally the last person in MLB to complain about ball/strike calls.

I don't understand why any of these teams would trade these players. havent the braves come out and said that they would listen on teheran Can't find anything. It would be peculiar given his contract, though he hasn't been too good this year, and was extended under a prior regime.

Irrelevant. None of us played at minute maid but we can comment on the stupid hill in center field and awful turf at soldier field. That hill is/was awesome.

The Cubs FO has overseen 3 deadlines where the team was awful. Reading anything into their desires based on their actions those 3 years seems pretty silly.

I would love to have Chris Sale. I think there's approximately 0.01% chance the Sox trade him. In the event that they do trade him, It would take a different set of players than what you've listed here. It's very likely that the best player that comes back in a deal for Sale needs to be better/more valuable than Schwarber, which for the Cubs means Russell, maybe Baez or Castro if this trade happens in the offseason and they can rehab(physically in Baez's case) their value a bit. You can also throw Bryant in that category with Russell, but Bryant has an even less chance of getting traded than Sale. aside from rizzo russell and bryant i'd give em what it takes. http://media.giphy.com/media/5xtDarrpLSZtBmtUleU/giphy.gif

Plan, I find it very interesting. One that I'll add for today just because I've seen it cited enough that I know it was their highwater mark. 1977: 47-22. 70th game 0-5 loss to the Expos 8.5 game lead on division.

Couldn't find a separate topic on the radio deal, but CSN just reported that we're likely heading to The Score next season. Apparently had a 1 time opt out after this season to leave for The Score. Sox are moving to 890.

Last year was a 22 year low in OPS at .700 Current leauge OPS is .711, which would rank 2nd to last for wild card era.

How reliable are FG's Infield Hit numbers? They've got Bryant at a silly 26% rate(13 total) I know there have been notable examples of him beating out grounders, but that still seems quite high.

Oh, I don't doubt that the attendance would go up in Tampa, but I think it'd go up pretty much anywhere for being a shiny new toy. I certainly don't see the Rays of Tampa easily drawing 3M-4.5M annually.

Aiken signs for ~2.51M, slot was ~2.39M. Astros final offer last season was ~5M IIRC -
