  1. I'd hate to see that next fan. You do know that they still get to play again next year, right? But if we lose Dan Vogelbach is it really worth playing at all?
  2. Players should sprint around the bases or they're not Playing the Game the Right Way. It didn't work out very well when Oscar Taveras tried to get home fast 9.4? Was that his BAC?
  3. jesus you are so bad at this how did mojo hack minny's account You mean jaydee?
  4. Just like in 2003 the 2003 cubs were heavily built on pitching (much of which got hurt) and their only young regulars were patterson, ramirez, and choi in a platoon. the average position player on the 2015 cubs is 5 years younger than the average position player on the 2003 cubs. Ramirez was acquired that deadline. And they stupidly gave up 7 years of control of Bobby Hill for him.
  5. Back up the Brinks truck?
  6. he does that like every year He's still a 34 year old rental and we're still a fringe contender. With this in mind, how much are we willing to give up? What teams do you consider better than fringe contenders in the NL?
  7. Truffle, tell me if this game is happening
  8. Olney: I'm [expletive] bored.
  9. I don't think that's true. If you get pitchers at random and I get to pick the ones with the most wins, I'm getting on average better pitchers. It has some correlation with quality. The stat can still be misleading though. Cy Young arguments based upon win totals are proof of that. It's not 2003 anymore.
  10. You laugh, but it's likely someone gets desperate for starting pitching at the deadline. Remember how little we gave up to get Strop and Arrietta. I'm not sure how B flows from A. And Lohse and Garza have far superior track records to Arrieta when he was acquired.
  11. He would've just cost us Kris Bryant
  12. Travis Wood will almost certainly be gone. You can add Turner and Olt to guys to be jettisoned, and there's no need to keep 2 guys whose best case are backups in Contreras and Lopez. I guess I'd keep Contreras.
  13. I wouldn't say they're all meatballs.(few if any actually) Each of them seem to understand the limitation, but just like the tradition.
  14. -Jose Altuve is a 2B. -I'm guessing Josh Fields hasn't walked 18 guys in 10.1 IP -Dallas Keuchel was really [expletive] good last year. And 6.1 K/9 isn't special. But other than that.
  15. By writing that you reversed the jinx. Snood, not Bickell is the villain here.
  16. Maryland probably just played their way into the tourney. I get that it's tough scheduling 4 games per day, but man that sucks for a 1 seed to be playing until 12:30 AM local time.
  17. Collmenter doesn't walk anybody but doesn't strike anybody out either. Kris Bryant should go 4-5. Tony LaRussa basically runs the Diamondbacks now, so odds are Collmenter will not survive the season depending on taxi availability in Phoenix. The D-Backs offense is Paul Goldschmidt and the 2nd best Tuffy in MLB history. They have a better pythag than us which can only mean pythag is stupid and/or broken because they're actually terrible. Let's win.
  18. Definitely. He just needs to curb his enthusiasm. You're a robot, not NCCubfan
  19. The official outfitter of the USA ducks vs. a floating green alien that only Homer can see. I like these odds.
  20. I want our pitchers to always be bunting unless they're TWood
  21. Is it weird that I'm disappointed that I haven't heard any morons talking about draft lottery conspiracies with the Lakers grabbing the #2 pick? Sure it was a 12.6% chance of happening, and sure it was at the expense of the New York Knicks, and sure the freakin Timberwolves took the #1 spot. But come on, can't some moron make a fool of himself?
  22. lolol
