If they lose this weekend, Garrett should be the one that tries to salvage the season. He's getting paid almost head coaching money anyways, and nobody is going to want to come in in the middle of the season. If he fails, get rid of him and look for someone in the offseason. Of course, this is Jerry Jones - the same Jerry Jones that kept Phillips after a 44-6 beating in a virtual playoff game against the Eagles two years. Or the same guy who said they were keeping TO then cut him the next week or two. So who knows what the hell he's thinking.
Am I the only one that's concerned about Marmol's arm? Just seems to me the fact he throws, he's going to have some issues down the line especially since his mechanics aren't very sharp.
The upside is that we won't have to suffer through embarrassing playoff losses. Just wait until next year when Ramirez is gone. After that, Fukudome/Zambrano are traded for nothing, and Hendry doesn't sign any decent free agents because of the old excuse that we have to trade someone before we can sign anybody (like bradley/marquis/derosa, etc.,)
Why is Zambrano not starting? The Cubs are completely out of the race, and no one is going to pay for a 18 million dollar mop-up/middle relief man. His value can't get anywhere but up starting the rest of the season.
