  1. Fisher isn't any more done than he was a year ago. A bigger problem is that Artest has been hot garbage all season long. Besides Game Seven of the Finals, he's been garbage since he's been there. Not a good fit for the triangle. Throw Bynum and Artest at the Nuggets for Melo, and see what you get. Got to be better than whatever the Nets/Knicks can give. Artest was meh last year, but at least he was plus defensively to offset his medicore offensive game. This year, he doesn't even have that: he's been pretty abusable on the defensive end and a black hole on offense. Dropping off Bynum doesn't help the problem of Gasol wearing down playing all the minutes at C, and why would the Nuggets want Artest? Rotate Odom to center, and play more uptempo/smaller when Gasol is out. Start Barnes if you have to, and leave Odom on the bench to play center when Gasol is out of the game and go smaller. Artest gives the Nuggets a defender when their team simply doesn't have one anywhere. Along with Bynum, that should be enough to get the Nuggets to bite or at the very least, consider it with who the other contenders are.

  3. Lakers need to dangle one of their big guys in front of the Nuggets face and try to get Carmelo. Or a point guard somewhere. Fisher's done, and Blake is a good bench player. Kobe needs to someone who can open up the court for him.
  4. I don't agree with this. When you allow 200 yards plus rushing you shouldn't expect to win by that much. Really? Missouri was up by 4 and knocking on Iowa's door before Gabbert gave them a gift with 5 minutes left. Add on the INT before halftime. At worst, that's 6 points and Missouri's up by 10. Two touchdowns there, and it's 17. Give or take. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good and today was Iowa's day to be lucky.
  5. This is really a game Missouri going to look back on and realize that they should have beat Iowa by 14-17 points instead of losing.
  6. How many more years does Crean get before Indiana flips a call down South to New Mexico?
  7. We'll talk in June when they're in the Finals against the Lakers.
  8. Heat has won 6 straight. Is the panic gone from some of the people around here yet? That team is going to be a monster to beat in the playoffs.
  9. I love when the Red Sox or the Yankees don't make it to the playoffs.
  10. I'm questioning if you've watched either of them pitch if you think he's a significant upgrade, especially when you factor in cost. Garza has better stuff, but he's been far from dominant. Furthermore, when you consider that he's a fly-ball pitcher that pitches roughly half his games in a stadium that suppresses offense, his numbers look even worse. Of course, you forget to include that he pitches in the AL and the AL East, at that. Same division as the Yankees/Red Sox (two teams that put up massive number of runs a year).
  11. Not really surprising when he came into the Iowa fold when Dominique Douglas/James Cleveland/Anthony Bowman were still there. This is going to be a massive headache for Ferentz as 2006 is going to come rearing it's ugly head again.
  12. They'll probably get Soto back in return or something.
  13. Penn State vs Florida in the Outback... http://www.outbackbowl.com/ Leaves Iowa in the Insight versus Nebraska.
  14. Rumors of Iowa playing Missouri in the Insight Bowl. I guess that would assume that Michigan is playing Florida in the Outback. Or will it be Illinois?
  15. This game is a bloodbath..
  16. Those stats are nice but how many runs does he drive in with his glove? Who cares? The Cubs have sucked scoring runs the past 2 years. They need his bat in the lineup.
  17. That would never happen. If there was a 16-team playoff, you'd at least see auto bids to the big six conferences if not all 11. I know it's not going to, but I can dream.
  18. Be happy everybody. Instead of seeing Boise in a BCS bowl game, you're probably going get to see UCONN (the same UCONN who got dominated by Michigan/Temple) in a BCS Bowl game because that massive power conference Big East.
  19. Nope. Humanitarian Bowl at home versus Ohio (who lost to Ohio State by 40+, lost to Toledo, lost to Marshall, lost to Kent State).. If that doesn't show you we need a playoff bad, nothing does. Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl? I would guess Nevada is going to go there and play Boston College who's terrible (6-5).. Another reason why they're should be a 16 team playoff with the top 16 ranked teams.

  21. I hope they put Boise state or tcu versus Ohio state in a bcs bowl game so old man Gee can at the least sweat that game out. At the worst, eat his words if they get beat.
  22. http://muskat.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/11/1123_berkman_wants_to_play.html --- I thought Berkman was against ever playing at Wrigley. Did they all of a sudden change because no one wants an aging infielder with bad knees?
  23. 15% of the season: meaningless. In the NBA, it is meaningless.
  24. It's gonna mean something, they are going to have to go to Orlando and Boston now to get out of the East. They're 2 games behind Boston and 1 1/2 behind Orlando (14 games in), and they're playing like garbage according to everyone. Cancel the season, the Heat are finished.
