    whoa, watched that clip, and after colvin left the game len kasper talked about at least 3 cubs who i had no idea even existed.

    for example, a 27 year old fan of the following teams have never experienced a world series title, and definitely have had miserable moments following their team: Rays Orioles (infant when the team won) Tigers (very young baby when team won, no memory of title) Indians Royals (too young to remember title) Rangers Mariners Expos/Nationals Astros Brewers Pirates Padres Giants Rockies

    No kidding. I'd say the Rangers are my second favorite team. I love watching them play and really think they have a great chance in the playoffs. A friend of mine lives in Dallas and is a die-hard Rangers fan. They can relate to Cubs fans pain and even now as good as they've done and as much of a sure thing as the playoffs are for them, they are willing to count any chickens before their hatched. No, they can't. Nobody can. Except other Cubs fans. there's plenty of teams with misery. shaddap

    So they say he's the second worst .300 hitter this year, then admit that it's his fielding that's dragging his WAR down. So he's not really the 2nd worst hitting .300 hitter? Which, considering the mention his fielding too, means Young isn't the worst hitting .300 hitter? Did I read that right? I'm guessing it's worst overall player who happens to hit .300.

    That doesn't fit Hendry's reputation at all. Pretty much universally, players have great things to say about him and how he treats/treated them. i'd say great things too if my boss gave me obscene money for mediocre at best work.

    Then you are stuck with a mediocre 1B. well either scenario we're stuck with a mediocre player at a position where offense is important

    not that i'm for the move necessarily, but isn't now a perfect time to at least experiment with the idea of soriano at 1st? it's not like we're competing for a playoff spot. if he's competent there, great. if not, then stick him back in left next season.

    lee had a very clutch hit for us in the '03 playoffs if i'm remembering it correctly

    I had not idea either. He's really fallen off in the second half. I think this is the least I've heard about the Yankees since I moved here. luckily he got a ring last year, or i'm sure the media would be going nuts over his performance.
