  1. Tide down 14 still almost the fourth quarter. They haven't been able to stop Steven Garcia and the [expletive] Offense all day. Garcia is 14/15 for 3 TDs. Alabama has stopped them on one drive the entire game. Someone tell Steve Spurrier it's not the 90s.
  2. South Carolina's second half start. Muffed kickoff return, shotgun snap over Garcia's head for a safety.
  3. unless lopez signed a deal for 11 with the sox when he signed with them in september.
  4. Ha! It's Felipe Lopez, not Jose Lopez.
  5. I can't help but see a little slice in irony that he is cut by the Rangers less than a month after they sign Mark Prior.

  7. Caught with a sock in my mouth.
  8. They have 2 first downs and they're about to go to the fourth quarter.
  9. I wonder if Mark Reynolds could play the outfield. Let's sell high on Byrd before trading Aramis. A Reynolds-Soriano-Fukudome OF would be useful, if Reynolds could play right.
  10. he hasnt had an ERA over 4.00 since he was 18 and has been sitting 3.50-4.00 for several years now. and he's doing that now..amazingly.
  11. His upside is a mid 3 ERA pitcher with plus batting and baserunning. How that not all that high?? His downside is season lost to injury, like every other pitcher. He's already there, so it's not an upside. It's what he's been. And that downside is huge. Show me one pitcher that doesn't have that downside and I'll show you a player who doesn't pitch. I'd say his upside is a 3.00ish guy with plus offensive skills. I'd say his likely area is mid 3s to 4. Say 30% <3.50, 50% 3.50-4.00, 10% >4.00, 10% major injury
  12. Carlos Zambrano is one of the most "complete" baseball players of his generation.
  13. Quiet you! We need another scapegoat instead of that media relations guy.
  14. My favorite thing is that excluding today, Starlin Castro is 3 for 26 since he "needed time off" to "learn" from players like Barney and company. Good job. Quade. Because the Cubs are winning we may be stuck with him, unfortunately.
  15. I would LOVE to bring Kerry Wood back. Carlos Marmol, Kerry Wood and Sean Marshall would be a great backbone for the pen in 11.
  16. We don't want to disappoint. AJP built a catchers mound http://o.onionstatic.com/images/articles/article/18069/SB-AJ-R_jpg_445x1000_upscale_q85.jpg
  17. so the i-cubs drew 12 walks today. makes me remember 2008.
  18. punt blocked against michigan with three minutes left.
  19. I'll have nothing but respect for a guy who walks away from the game at age 31 when he's perfectly healthy and eying another 50 or so mil deal. Oswalt has also said he's done after his current contract, I believe.
  20. to have two 100 strikeout relievers. Of course every other reliever we've thrown out there has an ERA north of five, but oh well. Sean Marshall is on pace for 95 strikeouts and is at 85 right now. They would become the fifth team ever to do it. The other four teams: 2004 (92-70) Angels (Shields 109, KRod 123) 1997 (98-64) Orioles (Benitez 106, Rhodes 102) 1989 (89-73) Blue Jays (Ward 122, Henke 116) 1986 (86-76) Blue Jays (Eichhorn 166, Henke 118) For you kiddos, in '86 Eichhorn went 14-6 ih a 1.72 ERA and nearly qualified for the ERA title despite not starting a single game. He pitched 157 innings that year. Notice how all those teams were decent and we're not.
  21. Generally it's one or the other, I believe.
  22. Of course we get KC....and Boston and the Yankees. While St Louis gets Toronto, Baltimore and Tampa Bay in addition to the Royals twice.
  23. there is luck involved in home runs.
