  1. Jesus, firstly I hope he's doing ok. Secondly, I guess that has to be the end of his career. Sad that it ended before it even started.
  2. As long as it doesn't cost the Cubs any other singings, I'm pretty neutral about whether or not Wiggins agrees to a deal in the next 5.5 hours. The upside is intriguing but there's so many things that are scary. His weaknesses are not things the Cubs are typically good at fixing.
  3. The answer is yes. He's the only consistently good bat this year. After him, the only one putting up an .800+ OPS is Morel and he's extremely streaky.
  4. I don't know we've ever seen a 3B with as little power as Madrigal, but very limited power 3B aren't entirely unprecedented. I can kind of see Madrigal being a budget Placido Polanco.
  5. How so? Bellinger replaces Bellinger so no change. Urias hasn't been very good so its unlikely he gives the Cubs what Stroman has, so we'll be generous and call that neutral. Chapman would be an upgrade, but Chapman alone isn't take this team from 78-80 wins to 90. Also, you have Morel and Chapman playing 3B.
  6. I just want to get rid of one excuse to not have Amaya getting as many at bats as possible
  7. Look, if it's 7-0 and a fresh inning then Rucker is fine. When one swing of the bat puts the Cards right back in it, there is no reason he should be in the game
  8. They finish off today and take both games from the WSox, I'll jump on the buying bandwagon.
  9. 3 scoreless from Taillon, surely this is proof of miracles
  10. Continuing my dog piling, but I wouldn't have guessed Mancini's OPS was still .640, I would have guessed more around .600
  11. Mancini put a ball in play, I guess that's something
  12. Taillon vs Montgomery, Cards have to be pretty heavy favorites in this one
  13. Half a season into his new contract, the Cardinals are looking to trade Contreras. I don't know that I've ever seen a franchise treat a newly signed player worse. They've repeatedly thrown him under the bus. Why would any free agent want to sign with them, assuming comparable money, after this?
  14. Still firmly in sell camp even if they win tomorrow.
  15. I'd honestly prefer Bellinger not be on a wet slippery field a week before the trade deadline.
