The point is, why use one of the two valuable trade chips to try and fill a hole, that may already be filled if they'd just give Mervis an extended look.

No one is saying a top 50 prospect, but a team with very little is more unlikely to give up their top guy then a team like the Orioles is likely to give up their 7th or 8th best guy.

I keep looking and Orelvis Martinez is definitely the guy if you're dealing with Toronto. 21 in AA, BB% up significantly to 14%, K% down to 20.5%. Tons of power. I'm curious as to why he always has really low babip, it looks like he almost hits too many flyballs at the cost of line drives.

A catcher putting up a 138 wRC+ on the season and is on pace for 4.3 fWAR per 162, but has played on back to back days once since June 11th. Meanwhile Mancini has posted a 78 wRC+. PA Since June 1st Mancini- 65 Barnhart- 39 Gomes- 83 Amaya- 56

I guess Orelvis Martinez + Barriera would be nice, but the Cubs would probably have to throw a reliever back. Unfortunately Leiter and Merryweather suck lately.
