    If the "insider" over on Mets Refugees is to be believed, the Mets have been heavily scouting Aranda the last week or so and has become their focus if a deal comes together.

    Not that it matters with the other 19 guys already signed, but I'm pretty shocked he got a 300k overslot. The Cubs are clearly more enthused than I am.

    Harbaugh is likely suspended the first 4 games of this up and coming season after lying to investigators.     Ah, I assumed it was 4 EST since ESPN always lists times in EST.

    Down to 2 hours, so I think it's pretty unlikely at this point.

    Even with his horrendous start to the year and his modest .278/.335/.364 line so far he has put up .7 fWAR in 53 games. That's 2.13fWAR per 162 which isn't awful. If he's a .300 hitter he's more like a 3 fWAR guy. The biggest issue is will he ever get anywhere near 100 MLB games, let alone 162 to build up that value.

    Oh please can I pay $20/m to watch a mediocre team and the same half dozen programs that run continuously whenever there isn't a game on? Where do I sign up?

    They basically have to win these next two if they want to realistically become buyers. Hopefully Hendricks has a good showing win or lose for trade value purposes.

    Part of me would like them to basically get a redo in 2024, but all that really does is delay the talent another year.

    It's definitely an assumption, but how often have we seen players go into cardiac arrest on a court and return?

    Well if CBS is to be believed, there wont be much trade return since they don't even have him ranked in the top 10 players available at the trade deadline and behind such players as Jeimer Candelario, Paul Dejong, Jordan Hicks and Michael Lorenzon.

    Jesus, firstly I hope he's doing ok. Secondly, I guess that has to be the end of his career. Sad that it ended before it even started.

    As long as it doesn't cost the Cubs any other singings, I'm pretty neutral about whether or not Wiggins agrees to a deal in the next 5.5 hours. The upside is intriguing but there's so many things that are scary. His weaknesses are not things the Cubs are typically good at fixing.

    The answer is yes. He's the only consistently good bat this year. After him, the only one putting up an .800+ OPS is Morel and he's extremely streaky.

    I don't know we've ever seen a 3B with as little power as Madrigal, but very limited power 3B aren't entirely unprecedented. I can kind of see Madrigal being a budget Placido Polanco.

    How so? Bellinger replaces Bellinger so no change. Urias hasn't been very good so its unlikely he gives the Cubs what Stroman has, so we'll be generous and call that neutral. Chapman would be an upgrade, but Chapman alone isn't take this team from 78-80 wins to 90. Also, you have Morel and Chapman playing 3B.

    If he can be had shopping from the DJ Herz level of prospect, then sure, why not?

    Oh please God let them take Barnhart as a cheap fill in.

    Look, if it's 7-0 and a fresh inning then Rucker is fine. When one swing of the bat puts the Cards right back in it, there is no reason he should be in the game
