As long as this doesn't stop them from adding another impact pen arm then that's fine. He's a solid if unspectacular fit for this pen.

Yeah, you could probably get fairly similar production between 2B/3B from a combination of Shaw/Nico and Shaw/Bregman but it would also come at the cost of an additional 20M in payroll in 2026 and that's ignore the next 4 or 5 years they'd also have Bregman signed for.

Stone was a deep deep deep dive. Undrafted FA in '22, Threw 20 innings in A ball at age 24 to some pretty terrible results. I'm interested to hear what the appeal was. Ortiz too looks entirely unappealing, so I'm intrigued to know why. He's going to be 27 by opening day.

Watch Baltimore is going to add Ryan Helsley, Pete Alonso, Framber Valdez and Edward Cabrera. I'd be ridiculously jealous.

He's unplayable at 3B, they already have Basallo who will mostly man DH, Alonso will be at 1B. He's as blocked as blocked gets.

I know he's an athlete and all, but knowing that Rivers is older than me and knowing how badly a blind side hit would mess me up, family and friends really should be discouraging him from doing this.

Apparently the Orioles offered Schwarber the same deal but the Phillies chose to match it. Interesting considering the Orioles also supposedly had the largest offer for Burnes last year. It looks like the new owner is willing to spend, but no one is taking the money. I'd almost be surprised at this point if Baltimore doesn't walk away with one of Framber, Ranger or Alonso.

Sure sounds like the Orioles are doing them darndest to land a top arm like Framber as well as a top bat like Alonso/Schwarber. Wont it be fun when we can even look at the Orioles and think, man that must be nice.

What can I say, I'm a huge hit tool believer. I put that above all other tools. I think it's easier for guys with premier hit tools to give up some contact for power than it is to go the other way on guys with power tools and low hit tools
