    That wasn't about Cease per say, that was just in general how i feel about Hoyer. Frankly I was lukewarm on Cease. Hoyer sets his valuation and that's that, he doesn't adjust with the market or situation and while that will keep him from signing any horrific contracts it's also going to keep him from attaining the top FAs.

    I'm never going to say don’t take BPA, but man is this farm in dire need of some pitching and could desperately use a talent infusion

    It's been kind of a reoccurring theme where the market price is consistently higher than what Jed has expected it to be. The most egregious case being last season's trade deadline. This in and of itself isn't awful, but the part where Jed isn't willing to adjust and push that extra bit even if it makes him uncomfortable, is why he very rarely shops above the 3rd tier of talent.

    Gallen is one I could definitely see Jed picking up. He has the history of being a front line starter and they probably think the pitch lab can fix whatever happened in 2025 to get him back in form.

    Honestly at this point if it's not Imai, I'd rather they just trade for either of Ryan or Cabrera. I think Framber would do very well in front of this defense but I'm not interested in giving 5 years to a 32 year old pitcher. Ranger is a good pitcher, but he'd be yet another lefty and another starter who doesn't strike out a lot of guys. Are the Cubs really going to march out 4 lefties in the rotation? With that said, I think this is all rather optimistic and I wont be at all shocked if the pitcher they pick up is from the Merrill Kelly/Chris Bassitt tier.

    Man, they aren't going to invest anything into the offense. I wonder if we're even going to get bench bats.

    They've now given up 140+ in 3 of their last 6 and not held anyone below 120 points in their last 10 games. Before tonight's game they were the 4th worst defensive team in the league.

    Good god this has been some terrible QB play in this Monday night game. 2TD to 5 INT between Purdy and Young right now.

    Philly just beating the ever loving horsefeathers out of Dallas. If the Bears can even keep it competitive I consider that a victory.

    2-4 with a loss at SF would require a number of things to go their way to get in, 2-4 with a win over SF probably gets them in, 3-3 virtually guarantees it.

    If I'm a coach up for a job after this year, the Giants are one of those jobs I'm hoping to land. They look like they have a legit QB and RB, they have a very very good WR. They're looking at a top 3 pick.

    For his mental well being he seriously needs a game or two off. Letting him continue to literally be the worst QB in the NFL and seemingly getting worse is going to crush any chance he overcomes this.

    JJ McCarthy is awful, like awful awful. He has as many interceptions in 7 games as Caleb does in his entire career.
