  1. Holy hell this is the most boring offseason in a year in which they expect to contend. Still time left, but as of right now they probably aren't as good of a team as they were entering the season last year.
  2. It was a successful season results wise, but I don't think it gives me a rosier view of the future 2026+. If I remember correctly, I thought they were an 85-87 win team before last season started. Right now I think they're probably around 85 again. I think there's also a large chance they drop off the table in 2027, if there's a season, because they're going to have an obscene amount of positions to fill after Nico, Seiya, Boyd, etc. etc. all leave.
  3. Why does it feel overwhelmingly likely the Bears end up playing GB in the 1st round?
  4. They beat another .500 team. Please be either good or bad enough to end this just mediocre enough to completely screw your draft picks while also missing the playoffs.
  5. My understanding was they were only considering King because he was a Boston fan and might give them a sweetheart deal.
  6. Wow, ref troll Detroit harder, good lord
  7. Steelers imploding
  8. He's approaching passable, but do you really want to give 30M a year to a passable QB?
  9. I mean he was awful in Japan against 94+, that's all he's going to see in the big leagues
  10. Seems like the rest of the league saw him as I did, a nearly unplayable bat without some major changes.
  11. 3400 passing yards and a 23/6 TD/INT ratio, but he's still viewed as bad by so many.
  12. After what Baltimore gave up for Baz, I think any notion of getting Gore for a reasonable price is gone. My guess is it takes 3 top 10, 2 of them top 5 in the farm. One of them almost certainly Wiggins. It's going to hurt, a lot.
  13. I don't think the Cubs got offered that price. I think King was disappointed in his market and took the deal he did because of opt outs after year 1 and year 2 so he could try and establish his health and get that 4 or 5 year deal he wanted. I don't believe the Cubs would have given him an opt out after 2026, not with the half dozen other players headed to FA after this season.
  14. They need to make sure that they have ****** drafting position so that they're stuck in perpetual mediocrity.
  15. To be fair half of those posts are @Sammy Sofa
  16. It's going to end really badly
  17. Given the cost of Shane Baz, we're all gonna be pretty unhappy with the price. I'm not saying don't do it, but the cost is going to be higher, likely a good bit higher than we anticipate.
  18. They've been mentioned on Imai and Framber as well.
  19. So this is kind of good news because the Orioles were in the market for 1 if not 2 SP.
  20. Who is saying the democrats are kind loving and altruistic? You'll find most of us don't like them either, but they're the far lesser evil here.
  21. Matt Shaw can go fornicate himself, that's my 1st amendment.
  22. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought the Bears were willing to fund the stadium, but they wanted something like 870 million from the state for infrastructure like train/buses/etc. It's still a stupid investment Illinois would never see a positive ROI on.
  23. https://x.com/theyanksonly/status/2001795095629295718?s=20
  24. I don't mind this signing , but man am I depressed this basically means no Okamoto.
  25. Christmas is a lover's holiday in Japan like Valentine's day here. Why they're obsessed with KFC on Christmas, I couldn't tell you though. New Year's is the big holiday in Japan.
