  1. 250K buys you one hell of a basketball talent. Kentucky is pretty damn impressive.
  2. This sucks. How can they afford this though?
  3. I think Weber survives this season. Thomas will fix the ills of the football program first, and outside of missing the NIT I don't see Thomas pulling the trigger on both Zook and Weber in his first year on the job.
  4. Ugly half. Paul Petrino needs to go, Zook needs to go, Koenig can stay forever.
  5. We have one left and Nunn, Parker, and Hamilton still are uncommitted. Picking up Orris was stupid. Wouldn't be surprised to see Meyers enter the draft. Nunn is visiting tonight, I think we have a reasonable chance at Parker (15-20%) which will be based on how well we play this year. From what I've read Hamilton lacks passion for the game, meaning he's probably the perfect Bruce Weber big man malcontent.
  6. Spineless, gutless, cowards.
  7. The whole situation is incredibly depressing. I feel awful for the victims, I'm angry at the administration for standing by idly, and am close to losing all faith in college athletics.
  8. A good chunk of the metric is based on returning scoring, which goes a long way in explaining why Illinois is so low. However if we finish below Nebraska, Weber needs to be chased out of town with torches and pitch forks.
  9. Re: Crandall's suspension Weber is quoted as saying that it was "everything." Doesn't sound good, but on the plus side, we may have found this year's team cancer/malcontent/scapegoat.
  10. Holy crap Meyers.
  11. Wanna know what's awesome? Ed Hightower and Co. are making up for all the whistles they missed in the offseason. Brutal. Apparently DJ has forgotten how to shoot.
  12. Yeah we can't shoot the basketball very well. It's gonna be a long season.
  13. With the power of the player's union in MLB compared to the other leagues, it really is amazing that Selig has been able to avoid a work stoppage for 17 years, especially when implementing measures such as drug testing. Stern has presided over every work stoppage in the NBA while Bettman has lost an entire NHL season, and managed to lose a national ESPN contract in favor of a second rate cable channel. I'd easily put Bud ahead of both of them.
  14. You're really selling Gary Bettman short.
  15. My favorite Tamba Hali moment:
  16. That's obvious, but I'm not sure if there's ever been a more polarizing quarterback, one who causes his opponent to mock him after a sack and rip him to shreds after a game. Tebow should really tell his supporters to STFU because they drive the hate for him more than anything else. It's also due to the fact that the media shoves his religious beliefs down the public's throats.
  17. I assume you're ignoring which team in our division won the World Series this year? Read: "offseason." And yes, I've already erased the WS from my mind.
  18. So lets recap. TLR retires. Albert is most likely going to greener pastures, AND the Cubs got Theo???? This is the best offseason ever!
  19. YEah, he's totally lost it. Pissed off Chris Johnson owner.
  20. I can't deal with this anymore. What a joke.
  21. Penn State's QB's are awful.
  22. Illinois scores. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  23. This really sucks. My roommate is still drinking and celebrating. I went down near the ballpark to take in the atmosphere at Paddy O's. I lasted until the fifth inning, but couldn't take it anymore, went home, had a few beers, and went to bed. I blame Marmol for this month of crap.
  24. Paul must average 15+ for this to be a successful season. He really needs to flourish or we will be in some serious trouble. I am anxious to see what Egwu can do, he is going to be fun to watch.
  25. I never want the team to fail, but the program needs fresh blood at the top. Weber simply isn't cutting it.
