    At least Richmond waited until after he was out of an Illini uniform to get arrested. Speaking of arrests, I still believe that Jamar Smith would have been one of the greatest Illini of all time had he not gotten in that wreck.

    Just got my ticket to Illinois-ASU on Saturday night. I don't think I've been this excited for an Illini game since the 07 Michigan game.

    What pisses me off is the whole Bo Ryan does more with less talent and is some coaching god because of it. That is the biggest myth in college basketball. Wisconsin recruits well, and benefits more from home cooking than any other team in the Big Ten.

    I believe this is one of the most important games of the Ron Zook era. If we win we are suddenly a team to watch in the Leaders division. Lose and the team could go into a tailspin. Given the fact that Illinois has a new AD, Zook would be well served to win this game. I'd like to see Young get more carries this week.

    I'm still not convinced FSU doesn't try to wrangle an invite. They were showing interest initially and the ACC could be raided at any point Delaney decides to expand.

    I think Parker will go a long way towards proving how good Jerrance is on the recruiting trail and what Howard's legacy will be with Illinois. Also need to keep an eye on the NBA situation. With Nunn (supposedly) committed to A&M, which is Parker's dad's alma mater, they might become a player. I'm not holding my breath but I think we've got as good a shot as anyone else, especially if Jabari is interested in staying home, and playing with Chicago boys for his one year of college.

    I'd rather the Illini get Malcolm Hill, he's taller and has a higher upside than Nunn. With that said, I don't like missing on instate recruits to Big 12 programs not named "Kansas". Close the class with Hill and Hamilton, and hold out for Parker. Sterling Brown is getting real good buzz, and could be another option.

    haha, that was the year that someone gave Morandini a vote. The game really was so different back then. 15 guys in the NL alone with 100+ RBI's. 9 with 120+. Check out Barry Bonds' 1998 statline. Holy crap.

    paterno? come on. it's the athletic department (won't play fewer than 7 home games each year because they use the profits to fund the rest of the university's athletic programs) and the list of BCS conference teams who play more than one non-pushover outside of conference is pretty short. AD's have come and gone, but the scheduling has stayed consistent. At any rate, Paterno is generally blamed for keeping Pitt off the schedule (a game that fans want to see every year, but the coach/AD has refused to add) Fans want to see lots of stupid [expletive]. What's the benefit? I don't see why a former (and geographic) rivalry is a bad thing. Do you think Illinois vs. Missouri is "stupid [expletive]"? Yes, Illinois and Mizzou was a microcosim of Lord Guenther's horrible non conference scheduling. We should be scheduling like Northwestern, instead Guenther gave us the hardest schedule in the conference year after year. Thank god its over.

    Reports don't seem to be too positive on Sherrod at left guard. Hopefully he improves.

    I'm not really sure how I feel about Colledge leaving. I never liked the guy, but he could fill in at a lot of places. With that said, the Eagles are pretty freaking scary.

    By all the reports I've read, yes. Barnett will either be traded or released. GB has a lot of money tied up at inside linebacker between Bishop and Hawk, and Barnett was merely the odd man out. Unless he's willing to take a major paycut, and possible backup role, I do not see him being back.

    Glad that we have started this thread. I like Barnett better than Hawk, but I guess his injuries caught up to him. After being very durable early in his career two of the past three seasons ended in injury. Bishop appears bound for stardom and Hawk will be solid at the other spot.

    Good. Now it's time to defend that title. :lol: Yep, the Packers suck. Or something along those lines. Well it's still true no matter how many titles they luck into. Sure, it was total luck. By your logic it was "lucky" the Bears even made the NFC Championship because they got to play the woeful Seahawks. GB went on a great run, and played the teams in front of them. I don't know what else you would have expected them to do.
