  1. That's one of my best friends from school.
  2. I'm in a 12 team auction keeper league with my buddies from college. My hitting has taken a real dive and I'm in a position to get some help. I'm also in a position to win this year if I make a move. My league scores quality starts instead of wins, and home runs allowed. My third baseman is Casey McGhee. Which offer is more enticing Offer one: Cliff Lee and Neil Walker for Drew Stubbs and Yovani Gallardo Offer two: Cliff Lee for Alex Rodriguez and one of Scott Baker, Chad Carrasco, Bud Norris, or Ryan Vogelsong.
  3. Are we sure those weren't the cubs outfielders? Great hustle by Byrd to score from first there.
  4. This has been discussed at length elsewhere, but firing Hendry without a legitimate replacement in place will pose problems come the trade deadline. The only thing worse than a lame duck GM at the trade deadline, will be a desperate interim GM who is angling for the full time job and does something stupid. Plus, as has been noted, Hendry is good at getting value in return in trades, so it makes little sense to cut a strength from the front office at this point.
  5. Yeah, this sucks, but Cards fans are obsessed with the Reds right now.
  6. There's no hope. This season is a wash. The entire organization needs to be gutted and rebuilt, and that's in the hands of the Ricketts family. The only things left to do are watch Castro and the other young kids develop, and pray we make a splash on the free agent market.
  7. My friend says TLR looks like this right now: http://cdn-images.hollywood.com/site/sloth_goonies.jpg I hate this team.
  8. Defense has been atrocious tonight. Assuming Soriano doesn't fall down and catches that triple we've given them at least three runs.
  9. Carpenter "inadvertently" hits Castro just to bring Hill to the plate.
  10. Horrible Cardinals homer writes horrible column about Theriot and the Cubs. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/jeff-gordon/article_210aee4c-7b0a-11e0-9773-001a4bcf6878.html Apparently Raphael Soriano is the Cubs new outfielder, and apparently the Cubs committed some grave injustice by trading Theriot away. The column is also littered with third grade grammar errors. At least Koyie Hill had a likable quote though.
  11. Let International Ryan Theriot Hate Week commence! http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR_anvUm_yCWx9Q93K-6VNgSny7C23-upJM-MJBlbUYI6qGbn2l&t=1
  12. Against a left-hander? Not that strange. Probably the most interesting thing is the Cubs are not starting Reed Johnson today, who has been the Cubs best hitter through limited at-bats and has hit Lilly very well in even more limited at-bats. Maybe Quade wanted to keep Pena in there to show his faith in him though after that closed door meeting a few days ago. Yeah, I totally overlooked that. Go Cubs.
  13. Pena hitting eighth, and Byrd hits third. That's....interesting.
  14. Where's Sulley when we need him? That was simply "shameful and ungentlemanly" by the Dodgers.
  15. I'd pay money to do it if I could. In a year I'm done with Graduate school and out of this hell hole. Yeah, I forgot St. Louis is so awesome. The crime, the lack of anything fun to do, the fact that everyone from here thinks its the greatest place in the world, the fact that the first question you get asked when you meet someone is "Where'd you go to high school?" No jobs, shrinking economy, half the city's buildings are empty, blatant racism and horrible segregation. St. Louis sucks, everything about it sucks. There is not one redeeming factor about this place. How about the arch? Btw - why does any major league team still think Aaron Miles is worthy of a roster spot? It's rusting.

  17. What? Spoiler alert: I'm a Cardinals fan stuck living in Chicago the last three years. Want to trade places? I'll gladly let you come home to this hell hole.
  18. Provides a good distraction from what's on the field. Dempster hasn't been awful tonight, offense continues to suck. I hate this team
