  1. I don't remember them signing Pena to "get more lefthanded." In fact, I don't recall any good right handed options at first base this offseason. You had Dunn, Adrian Gonzalez, Nick Johnson and Pena as the best options there (that I recall). All lefties. Assuming we couldn't/wouldn't match what the Red Sox gave up for Gonzalez, our best two options were Dunn and Pena. Dunn cost a ton and is unproductive so far, Pena cost a little and is unproductive so far. Hendry, to my knowledge and memory, never entertained the idea of signing Berkman. I don't mean to say that he would be duplicating the season he is having with the Cardinals, but it is looking like a major mistake that the Cubs did not even consider him as an option.
  2. I can't wait for the day that a player cold clocks one of these idiots. Great form by the security guard.
  3. Yes, Carolina got a compensatory for Peppers
  4. Wow, the Lions are having a hell of a draft.
  5. Well Sherrod and Bulaga. Protect the franchise.
  6. Thompson drafted Justin Harrell, a far less talented player at a higher pick with an equally shady injury history. I don't think he'll shy away from Bowers if he thinks he is BPA
  7. I'd love to see the Packers take Bowers even though i have no clue how he'd fit. He's a talent
  8. I think GB trades down. Someone comes up for Dalton. Also I'm thrilled the Vikings put their franchise in Christian Ponder's hands.
  9. I can't wait for Angelo to draft Marvin Austin here, just to see Sully's reaction
  10. Freakin Dantonio Knew that was coming He seems to have turned his life around. I'd say he earned this chance. Hopefully he proves himself worthy of it.
  11. I've been here two years now, and I don't find anything redeeming about the local St. Louis cuisine. T-Ravs are decent, but their pizza sucks. There are some pretty good restaurants around here, but none of which specialize in "local fare." I really miss being able to get Italian Beef. Go to Blue's City Deli, everything they serve is fantastic. There's also a place on Delmar that does a great job with their Chicago dogs, but I can't vouch for their beef sandwiches. I've heard that Blue's City is fantastic. I really need to check it out sometime in the near future. I've been to the Chicago dog place, it was worth the trip. Have you tried the new BBQ place in Soulard which I think is run by the owners of Pappys yet?
  12. That appears to be the dreaded high ankle sprain
  13. Phillips latest tweet. I have no clue what that "itis" is.

  16. I hate Byrd hitting 3rd. I'd rather see everyone in this lineup except for Barney there. Yes, even Colvin has been more patient that Byrd this year, and has more power. Pena's been much more patient, and I heard a rumor that he had power but who knows where that has been. With the way Soriano's been hitting, he should be in the 3 spot until he cools off. He seems pretty comfortable where he's at. I understand the temptation, but Soriano is a futzy player. Over his career Soriano has the second highest OPS in the six spot. He only has a higher OPS leading off, and I think we can all agree that we don't want him there right now.
  17. None of the popular teams have many Monday night games. That's not the desirable night. I don't know if for away teams the Thanksgiving game counts down the 5 night game maximum. Otherwise it's a little surprising that Green Bay didn't get the maximum number of night games. Yeah, I think the Thanksgiving slot counts as a primetime game. I'm glad we only have one Monday nighter. That crew makes every MNF game near unwatchable. You're right in that respect. I still like having the national showcase though.
  18. So Green Bay wins the Super Bowl and gets 1 Monday Night game, but Jacksonville gets two. That makes tons of sense.
