  1. Unfortunately that's due as much to the ineptness of the rest of my team this week as to the awesomeness of Lincecum and Mo.
  2. If Zambrano starts your in trouble.
  3. Yeah, that must be it. That has to suck to find out midweek that your 2b isn't allowed to be a 2b. But, since he wasn't supposed to be moved anyway........ I guess we will need a ruling on how this one should be handled for the rest of this week. As I look at Bob's live scoring roster, he currently shows two people at 3b today with one of them having an off day today. Do we take away any points McGehee scores today and then place him on the bench for the rest of the week? I'm leaving early tomorrow for the weekend, so this will need to be resolved today. I'd tend to give a bit of benefit of the doubt to a rookie; this is my 7th season in the league and I'm still not sure I have all of the nuances of the rules down. I think he should know that midweek changes aren't allowed unless for specified exceptions such as injury, but I don't hold him responsible for not knowing McGehee isn't eligible at 2B since he was active at the start of the season; that seems to me to be a CBS glitch, not Bob's fault. How about reversing the lineup swap, counting McGehee's points at 2B (but not the replacement's) for this week, then requiring him to use McGehee at 3B or U or bench him starting next week? That would give him a fair chance to find a replacement if desired.
  4. Unless he was injured you're not allowed to remove him from your lineup midweek in the first place. Other than starting pitchers lineups are set at the start of the week and cannot be changed except for special situations like being injured or sent to the minor leagues, or unless you make a trade midweek. You cannot make midweek changes because a player is sucking or because his team is off that day. It doesn't look to me like he's supposed to be eligible at 2B, since he hasn't played that position since 2009. I'm not sure why he would have been listed as eligible at 2B in the first place, unless that was a carryover from last year (he would have been eligible at 2B last year based on his playing time in 2009). It may be that he was already in the lineup at 2B when you took over the team.
  5. And you have me to thank for Matusz. :D
  6. Standard NSBB policy several years ago. :D http://www.northsidebaseball.com/phpBB3/images/avatars/gallery/UserPics/ct.jpg
  7. Banks did start out as a SS. He hit 19 home runs in his rookie year and 44 the next year (that was back when the season was 154 games).
  8. The commish and those with commish powers have the ability to make roster changes and adds/drops for teams, but I'm not just going to arbitrarily do that without the leagues approval to do so. I'd rather see Chuck fix his roster. I think Chuck mentioned traveling during the draft. He may not be able to check in every day. The fact that he still has Longoria in his lineup two or three days after he was placed on the Rays' DL makes me think Chuck hasn't checked in recently. If you do think it's appropriate for you to swap Longoria and Holliday you have my OK.
  9. Northern Arizona coach Mike Adras. Now I want to see his whole ballot. It would appear that he didn't even put UConn second because they got 773 points which means he put them third. I wonder if he put Kansas second. The article I linked to says that he did vote Kansas second.
  10. Former Alabama coach Mark Gottfried has been named as the new coach at NC State.
  11. Northern Arizona coach Mike Adras.
  12. Southpaw usually posts the standings weekly.
  13. The only fair thing I can think of is to not allow any points earned by the added player until the illegal roster has been fixed. Thoughts? I'm not sure if there's a better solution than that. I think Chuck jumped the gun and assumed he'd be placed on the DL when in fact he has not. On the flip side, he still has Longoria, who is on the major league DL, in his lineup.
  14. Since it's still before we can make transactions I've changed my mind about this since it sounds like Holliday could possibly be back by this weekend. I hate to burn a transaction this early when it may be only a few more days.
  15. Chuck's roster is still illegal; Holliday is still on his DL but not on the major league DL (and he may not be placed on it).
  16. Last night in the women's Final Four Notre Dame ended UConn's bid for a third consecutive title. A school from Indiana beating UConn; hopefully that's a preview of what will happen tonight. :D
  17. The games actually have to be played before there are box scores to be posted.
  18. You can add Evan Longoria to that.
  19. Chuck, unless something happened earlier today that I haven't read about yet you can't place Holliday on your DL at this time since he's not on the major league DL. The Cardinals said they're going to wait a few days to make a decision in hopes that he could avoid the DL. If he actually was placed on the DL and I just don't know about it yet then you're OK.
  20. At least Kentucky will only have to vacate a Final Four appearance, not a national championship. Go Butler!
  21. I thought they were talking about starting pitchers, but I don't remember for sure. Carlos Marmol in 2011: 27 K/9.
  22. I assume I can go ahead and post my transaction now even though you won't process it until Tuesday. Add Ryan Zimmerman, drop Matt Holliday. Not a good start when a player goes down this early. :(
  23. So far so good on the Lincecum trade.
  24. He's snakebit.
