  1. I like this scenerio, cause not only does Hudson/Drew bring more offensive ability to the table then Theriot/Fontenot, but there are both better defensively. Add those two up the middle and you improve the team defense by a large margain.
  2. The Bears almost signed former Raider QB Andrew Walter. I wonder if the Bears are not liking what they've seen from Haine (whom they have been high on for so long) and Basenez (however you spell his name) or is this a ploy by the Bears to motivate both QB to step up?
  3. Come on Keener, you know better. It was because of Fukudome and Bradley getting on base routinely last night as the reason why the Cubs lost last night, not because our 3-4-5 went 0-4er. Come on get your head into the game. You know if it doesn't "work" for a game then Lou is going to change it.
  4. this surprised me - not even the obligatoiry PTBNL phrase. Prolly a box champagne and a hearty handshake.
  5. Ok, who do not see this coming..?
  6. Lou has also sounded frustrated and critical of Samardzjia in the media. And this is weird because Lou seems to usually get what he wants in terms of players coming and going, like Wuertz. Which if it wasn apparently before it is now. Shark staying in Chicago is clearly a Hendry decision, as is Aaron Miles.
  7. :rotfl: Good one, El.
  8. Not as ugly as the game before against the Reds.
  9. It's good to know that the Cubs are no longer "hot" as a team.
  10. Born: Feb 18, 1981 - Coffee, AL Alabama is certainly not a hispanic country. No, but just in the Motgomery/Prattville/Millbrook/Wetumpka area that is something like 72,549 Mexican resturants. Nonetheless there is a healthy population of hispanics in Alabama.
  11. Well having Cutler at QB and Marshall, Royal, and Scheffler at WR and TE had prolly a lot to do with the running game being productive. Teams couldn't load up in the box, which means Denver's running game space to work, and event hen Denver's "leading rusher" was a full-back and he had 343 yards. My guess is defenses are going to try to make Orton beat them in 2009, and take Moreno out of the equation. I liked Orton, but I liked him better as a BACKUP QB.
  12. Bestill my heart with that lineup. Let's hope we can have the lineup more then a couple of days.
  13. From the suntimes. LOL, the suntimes has even call Hendry out on his BS with Miles and Blanco.
  14. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-07-bears-pool-chicago-aug07,0,470549.story
  15. After the 2009 season you are going to wish you never made this statement.
  16. I think most people are waiting for the "other show to drop" on Pujols. I hate to say it, but nobody is above suspicion and THAT includes Pujols. With that said, until proven otherwise Pujols (when not facing the Cubs) and Joe Mauer are my two of the hitters I enjoy watching hit.
  17. =D>
  18. I think Neifi takes the cake for me. Miles is pretty close though. But atleast Nefti had OPS over .600 during his stint with the Cubs. Aaron Miles would have to go on a hot streak just to reach .600. In other words, it wouldn't surprise me if Miles is having one of the worst seasons in baseball history, at least offensive anyways.
  19. http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/percy-harvin-overshares-a-bit-with-gator-recruits-25413 I don't know how much of this is true---other then Percy smoking pot---but if any of this is true, then there are two things to come out of it: 1. Percy is the dumbest person alive and 2. Florida has the best "cover up" guy in the business. Maybe politics might be of better use of this "cover up" guy abilities.
  20. It was a worthwhile gamble, IMO. If you catch lightning in the bottle, then you got a nice stable of lefties for the remainder of the season, if not nothing lost.
  21. Well training camp is in sessions, maybe the Cubs can get him to go over to the Bears....
  22. Like a player needing to be released.........
  23. Meh it happens. The Cubs have been struggling a bit on offense lately, and they ran into a pitcher they haven't seen before that consistently got ahead of the count and was in control of the game. This is hopefully the low point of the Cubs slump and hopefully they start to hit better, coinciding with Geo's return. I get that, frustrations over losing a game you shouldn't be losing in a tight race. As for the "running into a pitcher they haven't seen before", more the reason to be more patience then they were.
  24. So let me get this straight, the Reds can "battle" hard enough to knock out both Wells and Gorzy in the 8th inning, but the Cubs can't battle enough to scrap across run against Justin "Right Handed verison of Ryan O'Malley" Lehr? The Reds can can score 4 runs in the 9th the last two games, but Cubs can get a single basehit in the inning? I hate baseball sometimes.
  25. Hill-Harden-Fukudome. I'm all for optimism, as I think we'll win... but not this inning. I agree. Lehr is throwing essentially meatballs, it's only a matter a time that he gives up the 3 run lead.
