  1. Watching the Cards get smoked in the playoffs by the Phillies then watching Holliday bolt for a major market team will be fun to see.
  2. Well, apparently Andre Ethier, Russell Martin and James Loney will be sitting out the game today, and that Pierre, Ausmus and Loretta will be starting for them.
  3. Wait until the that monstrosity costs the Cowboys a game or two during the regular season.
  4. Knew the Cubs would suck so I went to the movie. Decided to watch something that is mildly more entertaining then the Cubs---G-Force---and yet I got my money's worth watching the movie. The World Series trophy is in the side-view mirror. So wave bye-bye, cause it ain't getting any closer.
  5. BA seemed high on him as a second day guy during the draft. I'm curious to see if he has a future or is just roster filler. If you believe this poster at an Alabama message board, May got quite a bit of coin and will be converting to catcher: That is a very good Bama sports site and most people on this site are legitimately when reporting Bama related news. I don't know much about that poster seeing as he has less then 20 posts on the site, but I would prolly give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says May got 8th rd money, then I believe the poster.
  6. That will be almost impossible. Lou is basically in a coma out there. Not really. Sandberg would make more idiotic coaching decision before all star break then Piniella. At least Piniella has the "Resume" as a manager to be given the benefit of the doubt. Sandberg doesn't.
  7. Media speculation and he's a Cubs legend who has worked his way through the minors to get his shot. He was on with Waddle and Silvy today and he basically said he's ready for a chance to become a big league manager. Lou's gone and the naming of Ryno as manager will create quite a buzz with the fans. The Cubs will need that going into 2010 after this wreck of a season. God, I hope not. I love Ryno as much as the next guy as a player, but he should be the last guy to be manager of the Cubs. I have no problems adding Ryno to the coaching staff, but in no ways should he be manager of the Cubs in 2010. IMO, Trammel should be the next guy, if they are going to stay in-house, as manager and not Ryno.
  8. BA seemed high on him as a second day guy during the draft. I'm curious to see if he has a future or is just roster filler. To me, he seems like a future roster filler. He was a solid role player at Bama, but nothing stood out tools wise.
  9. That kinda happens when you go 7-11 in August to date, like the Dodgers (Rockies are 11-6 in August). And I agree with you, when looking at the posible pitching matchups, the Cubs SHOULD win 3 of 4 (Weaver/Gorzy/, Wolf/Wells/, Haeger/Lilly, Billingsley/Dempster), plus if you pitch carefully around the ONLY three legit hitters in that lineup (ManRam/Kemp/Either, the Dodger's lineup isn't that impressive. With that said, I would be estatic if the Cubs could managed to get a split.
  10. Yeah but those turds are definately getting a good laugh at us over at gwrb. We'd be laughing at them over here if the tables were turned. Maybe, but I don't like missing with karma cause it's a female dog. For once, I would like to mess with the Cards for having an epic choke job.
  11. Yeah but those turds are definately getting a good laugh at us over at gwrb.
  12. The reality has more then set in, but after going over to GWRB and seeing them do their "magic number" and it's down to 37 games or so, its like boiling hot water to the face.
  13. Well at least Franklin isn't doing it on talent, if you know what I mean. And he does have a black mark on his resume already, so it's not out of the realm.
  14. http://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2009/08/no_drama_for_tide_baseball_on.html Sounds like 36th rd pick Brandon May of Alabama has signed.
  15. I hate late night west coast games when the Cubs are sucking. I much rather to get swept during the day, so that I can move on with the day.
  16. I think they're gonna hang on to him. He's been decent since he took over. If there is a GM spot opening, I suspect Rizzo would take that job to take a "lesser role" with Washington. Personally, I think Washington should have kept Rizzo, but.... would you like to try this post again No.
  17. Agreed. Anytime you take touches away from AP, and not be productive is fine with me. I think there is a good chance Brett Favre will be worse in 2009 then Tavaris Jackson was in 2008.

  19. He's not. He let Baker finished out 2006, so you can bet on Hendry will let Lou finish out the year if he wants to.
  20. Yes Theriot, try and pull that outside pitch one more time, nevermind that you can take the ball to the opposite. No,no, try and pull it.
  21. Has he tried reading from the Frederick's of Hollywood catalog? :D =D>
  22. There's not an attract FA option at closer, so my guess is the Cubs will prolly have to acquire a closer unless they think Guzman or Marmol can handle the job next yr. I'm hoping they will have Heath Bell on their short list of outside of the organization option at closer.
  23. It sucks to know that you don't have faith that your team can't beat a crappy team. If ya going to lose tonight Cubs, let's not make it a walk off fashion.
