  1. Hmm...I would hope they'd match that too. A first round pick is good no matter what, but definitely less valuable when it comes from a team that expects to compete for the Cup. I don't know if there's any way we can match that...we'll see though. A first and a third from the Penquins would essentially be a 2nd/4th in terms of value considering where Pitt will be drafting. And since Hammer is a former 4th rd pick (2005 draft) that is not good enough value for Hammer. So yes, I do think the Hawks will match an offer sheet for Hammer, and it's not even close. The problem I see is getting good enough value for guys like Ladd/Versteeg/Buff to free up the money to keep Hammer. And after that trade is announce the Hawks will announced they've acquire Sidney Crosby from the Penquins for Jake Dowell and a draft pick. I don't have a problem with trading Sharp, but the Hawks are not in the business of giving away quality players. Which is what the Penquins fans seem to think. But according to the Penquins they believe they can acquire both Sharp and Hammer for a crappy player, and three draft picks. Right.
  2. As opposed to the type of fun that Kane likes to have right? Right. Toews/Keith would be good, clean hockey fun as opposed to Kane's, "I gotsta hit the bars running, and hit me some hood rats, yo" fun.
  3. This has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. There are too many legit HOF players NOT in the HOF, but this predecessor to the Ryan Theriot/Aaron Milles really does deserve to get the boot out of the HOF. But yeah, Chipper is a HOF.
  4. on the likes of joe johnson and david lee I hope not, but that's probably the likely scenario. Johnson/Lee is A scenario, not necessarily THE likely scenerio. Who said the Bulls had to use the cap space of a FA? I still believe we have a great chance at landing LBJ, and in the case we don't, I don't see Johnson/Lee combo at all. Maybe Johnson/Boozer, but I am holding out that if LBJ isn't in Chicago, I hope we can land plan B of Johnson/Bosh.
  5. So for Toews and Keith their first game back as a Stanley Cup Champion will be on literally their home ice. Both are from Winnepeg, so I suspect that game will be quite fun for both players.
  6. The Blackhawks will play again before the Cubs last game. That's depressionly fantastic.
  7. If we are talking about a healthy Chris Paul, then Rondo is NOWHERE near Chris Paul.
  8. I'm not the guy who gets into race-baiting arguments, but I think it would be different if Kane weren't a blonde kid from Buffalo. If a black NBA/NFL player had the cab incident, was celebrating the cup mostly with his posse away from the team, had his shady cousin around the entire time and made some of his comments, average Chicago fan would have a completely different reaction. And that said "average Chicago fan" would be stupid.
  9. We all know which team winning a championship would be the most rewarding.......but it is also the team furthest from a championship. So ending the NHL's longest drough, and Chicago's 2nd current sports drought is prolly the "best" championship in city's history.
  10. 8 runs to a team that has a worse offense then yourselves. Touche Cubs, touche.
  11. Make him the left fieder................ I keed, I keed.
  12. McCann was also injured for about a week. And the point still remains Hill has no business starting as much as he has over the last 3 weeks. Thank you.
  13. Soto has absolutely zero leverage and to compare Soto to Joe Mauer or McCann is a joke. I AM NOT COMPARING TALENTS, MIND YOU, what I am saying is teams do not constantly start backup catchers over their "perceived" starting coachers. Especially if the starter is significantly better then the backup which Soto is. You took it the wrong way.
  14. Overreaction on YET another minor story. So am I the only one who wouldn't be doing the same thing as Patrick Kane is doing? If I had score the winning goal in the Stanley Cup (hit a game winning HR in the WS, etc, etc) I woud be trying to break Wilt Chamberlain's off the court record in one night. Come on folk, let the kid run through he version of hood rats, and enjoy himself. People are amazed about the maturity of Toews and wonder why Kane can't be mature like Toews. That's because he isn't Toews. I like the American Cowboy Kane personality he is showing. Kane will mature at his own timetable, or after a couple of paternity suits, whichever comes first. Gooooo Kane, hit those hood rats.
  15. They had an offer. In fact they were the only school with rumors to the SEC to have an offer.
  16. what does this mean? who is the conference killer? Texas. Who killed the SWC, hence Texas=Conference killer.
  17. At what point does Soto get his agent to call up Hendry and demand a trade? Because apparently Koyie Hills is the Cubs "catcher of the present and future" despite sucking at what he does for a living. There is no justification for keep playing your backup catcher. You don't see the Braves play David Ross over Brian McCann. Or the Twins Wilson Ramos over Joe Mauer. So why do the Lou keeps putting in Hill behind the plate when he sucks?
  18. :banghead: Every damn year there is that one hateable player that is kept on the roster simpy because the FO/manager is too stubborn/set in his ways to cut the players from the team. Every damn year.
  19. The fine folks over at AggieYell.com, who I was made aware by Aggies fans who posted on a Bama website. Several people made it clear TAM fans wanted to do their own thing, and not kiss UTX butt. They will make money as long as there is money to be made. But that conference is ultimately going to lose money, because of the lack of great teams in that conference. Add in the fact that there is no CCG game, and that conference won't exactly be swimming in money. In other words Big XII has become a glorified mid major conference. I said it before and I will say it again, the Big XII chose the slow and painful death, over the quick and painless. Big XII will die, because they have the conference killer in the conference, they just put off their death for a few more years.
  20. Oh brother. People are doing "We had the better championship" talk? First Mushmouth the Guillen, and now Dent. Why can't these asshats simply be happy for the city of Chicago getting another championship instead of puffing up their chest. Maybe Bobby Sippio might want to speak up and say his teams championships for the Chicago Rush (2006) and Chicago Slaughter (2009) were much better then the Hawks. Maybe former Chicago Fire stars Zach Thornton and Chris Armas have something to say about which Chicago championship is best.
  21. I know for a fact that A LOT of Aggie fans are sick to their stomach at their fave schools dependence of Texas. The ones I know were screaming to go to the SEC, but apparently the TAM leadership didn't listen what the fans wanted, but what their pockets wants. As for the Big 1+11-2 Conference, 5 years is highly unlikely. I'd give them half that time, before other schools in the conference have buyer's remorse and jump ship.
  22. Can this mindnumbingly boring series please end so the Bulls can officially get their coach?
  23. So the "Big 1+11-2" gets to fight off extinction for a few more years.
  24. 1. Chip Brown is nothing more then the talking head for Texas. Take whatever he says at face value. 2. The Missouri as a pacakge if SEC wants TAM is okay, I guess. I would expect SEC to offer Mizz by themselves, but if it meant TAM then so be it. 3. As for the report that says that Texas will or could recommitt to the Big XII is a load of crap. Texas wants the rest of the Big II, especially TAM to fall back in line and bow down to the "greatness" that is Texas. The only way Beebe convince Texas to recommitt to the Big II is if Beebe sold his soul to the devil, aka Texas. If he had, then the leftovers of the Big 12 might as well jump now, cause they'll never be treated fair in the Big XII. I will say this, I used to respect Texas, but since the BCS game they have quickly overtaken both USC and ND as the most hated and arrogant school in America. 4. Now how hilarious would it be that throughout this whole expansion talk, that only Colorado (Pac 10) and Nebraska (Big 10) are the only schools to move.
