  1. I'm outta here for the next week. I've got a wedding to attend and then visit with the in-laws in Nova Scotia. So yes, I won't be watching anything sports related for the next week. So, when I leave---within the hour---I will leave it in your hands guys, to will the Hawks to a victory.
  2. We all are missig the most important point: how is that creepy cardinal fan on youtube feels about Aaron Miles returning to St. Louis?
  3. Thank goodness he's in our bullpen! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0606-bits-cubs-astros-chicago-20100605,0,4786128.story I don't have a problem with Cashner getting his feet wait on the majors as a reliever. Is it ideal? No, as I prefer him getting him innings as a starter in the minors. But what will pissed me off is if (or possibly when) the Cubs bounce him from bullpen to starter back to the bullpen, ala Sean Marshall and Shark.
  4. Yeah, about James and Bosh going to Miami and taking a pay cut to do it, has as much chance of happening as the LA Clippers do at landing Lebron James. It wouldn't surprise me to know that the Orlando reporter's source is Dwayne Wade. As for the Celtics call him a "career assistant" is a blatant insult and the Celtics should know better. One could say that Phil Jackson was a career minor league coach at the time the Bulls hired him. Gregg Popovich might have been considered a career assistant coach/front office personnel. Not comparing Thibo with either coach, still this sounds like sour grapes by Boston, because they know there window is closing.
  5. I know it may sound like whining, but the Hawks should call out the referees, especially McCreary.
  6. I really like the idea of bringing in a guy like Mo Cheeks, cause you know Rose will learn alot from Mo.
  7. There's no such thing as game-to-game momentum. Agreed. Philly did what they had to do. And if the series plays out like it has in the first 4 games, then the Hawks will be brining home Lord Stanley. It sucks not splitting, not it's not the end of the world.
  8. First: I do not feel tension through a computer. Second: Tension might be abit strong, maybe anxiety as we're waiting for Game 4. Third: Since alot of Blackhawks fans are also Cubs fans, how would you not expect tension/anxiety thisclose to a championship?
  9. Now I know what John Cena would look like without steroids. Not bad a video, anything break up the tension on this board, I am cool with.
  10. Yeah well, baseball needs to think about baseball in the present, instead of what might happen in the future. There is no guarantee that Galaragga will ever get another chance like this, so for the ump to take it away like he did, is unacceptable. As for the future, you take it case by case. Right now, MLB needs to overrule the call and award the young man a perfect game. If everyone involved in MLB can't come to an unspoken agreement not to use this as some precedent for protesting other end of game calls then I have no faith in humanity. It's so cut and dry. Don't be a huge tool and there will be no negative precedent set. I agree. On ESPN during the Tigers highlights they rans clips of broadcasters of the following teams: Boston, NY Mets, Houston, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, NY Yankees (Yankees broadcasters took it a step farther and said "the umpiring has never been as worse as it has been this year"), and Marty Brennaman, and they all were in agreement that this was a really bad call and something needs to be done. My gut feeling is that had ESPN brought clips of every major league team broadcast tonight onto their show, I think every team would have said the same thing. I think for the first time that I can remember, everybody associated with baseball is in agreement, and that is Galaragga should be awarded the perfect game.
  11. It really is. It wouldn't surprise me that Chris Paul is traded within the next two years.

  13. Even tho you want a sweep, losing a game on the road to a pretty good home team is not a bad thing. Considering that it took overtime for Flyers to finally beat the Hawks, cannot be a good thing for Philadelphia. Let's face facts Philly had a 7 game Stanley Cup Finals losing streak going, so it's naturally the law of averages catches up and allows them to finally win a Stanley Cup Final game. Considering how bad and disappointed the Hawks feel after this game, alledgely, it wouldn't surprise if Game 4 is the game in which the Hawks just totally and systemically destroy the Flyers something like 6-1. I have no basis on that belief, but I fully expect the Hawks to come out on Saturday and beat the Flyers.
  14. My tipping points on comprehensive replay were two plays: 1: Cubs/Rockies series in which the Rockies second baseman got a "neighborhood call" even though he wasn't even in the zip code. 2: A's/Twins series in which a Twins player was call out trying to score from third on a wild pitch, only to see replay clearly confirm the Twins player got underneath the tag. Everything after those plays are just cherries on top of a sundae for me.
  15. I wonder if Detroit will recognize this game as a perfect game, regardless if MLB reverses the call or not.
  16. I have a hard time believe that Michael Leighton will keep the Hawks off the board. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the Hawks go off on him this period for like 3-4 goals.
  17. I think MLB has to reverse the umps decision. The runner is clearly out. Leyland and whoever needs to fly to major league baseball and demand they reverse the call and give Armondo the much earned perfect game. They won't. They should. But they're scared of setting a precedent. I tend to agree, but baseball likes to pride themselves with having integrity and not reversing this call would show that have no integrity. Again this CALL has to be reverse, the ump can't argue he made the right call, baseball can't defend the umps decision. I sound like a broken record, but baseball needs to reverse this call, or they will lose alot of respect.

  19. I think Eager is looking for an excuse to pound Pronger.
  20. You are a smart, smart man. I've said since Lebron Cavaliers were eliminated that the ONLY two teams that has a shot at James were Cleveland and Chicago. The only people who think the Clippers have even 0.1% of signing James are those idiots who march in the "Bring Lebron James to LA" parade.
  21. That was the first thought after reading your post, SSR.
  22. Same here. I don't even follow the Cubs on tv anymore. I will follow them on this site, but if I need to go to the ballpark to watch baseball, I just go to a minor league game. At least then, I have no expectations other then to have a good time, watching young players try to reach their goals.
  23. Not with the way the Cubs are playing. And it's good to see the Cubs are being dominated by the New York Yankees in disguise.
