  1. If the Bulls make that trade, sign Lebron and then sign some hungry vets to fill out the roster, I will bow down to Gar Foreman, and I won't say anything negative about him, Paxson or Reinsdorf for 2 years straight. FYI: Memphis has three 1st rd picks (12th, 25th and 28th pick) so there is a good chance you could buy either the 25th or 28th pick off Memphis' hands.
  2. I wasn't feeling anything but confident with a slight nerves heading into OT. But you, kyle, and dex made it sound like it was automatic the Hawks were going to lose. I knew there was a chance, but I have confidence in the Hawks to get the job done. Dex already said it, but I definitely didn't mean it to sound like it was going to be 'automatic' that we were going to lose. We gave up the tying goal with 4:30 left and San Jose was basically outclassing us that entire period. Yes, the penalties helped that out but I got the feeling from all of those penalties that the refs weren't going to help us out at all. That's another major reason why I wasn't confident at all. It's all for naught. I saw the game-winner again and Buff shot it so quick that the person in charge of the spotlight wasn't really ready for it. That guy is usually on his game so I can't really get on that announcer for taking a few seconds to realize that the puck actually did go in the net. It's going to be nice to have Emrick and Eddie call the game on Sunday, though. That analyst was extremely annoying tonight. I'm cool, and I definately didn't mean anything by what I said, just wish we save the gloom and doom for the Cubs board.
  3. dex, calm down, my friend. The Hawks won and yet you seem to want to take the fun out it. Grab a beer, get some sleep and find some optimism when you wake up in the morning.

  5. IMO, the Bulls will need to include a third team in that deal if they have any desire to get both James and Bosh. The key will be to get rid of Hinrich and Deng as quickly as possible without taking on too much contracts.
  6. Couple of things about the game I saw from the highlights: 1: How pretty was Toews pass on the first goal of the game? Man that pass was awesome. 2: If you are San Jose, how do you lose a 260 pound man?
  7. My opinion is....the Conn Smyth is Toews to lose.
  8. No. This is just set up too perfectly. Which would be more gutting, blowing a 3-0 lead vs. the Sharks or failing to put it away against a very mediocre East champion? How about neither? I honestly believe neither of those scenerios are going to happen. With the Sharks, at this point they are mentally a wreck, do to many years of playoff failures. Similiar to the mindset of a Cubs fan. For them, this is like 'oh, here we go again." As for the Stanley Cup, we are SOOOOOO much better then both teams. We should skate both teams out of the arena. And if Niemi continues to play like a top goalies, then the Hawks really have no holes in their games.
  9. Wait, you don't want the sweep or you do? I am on board, I press T instead of W, which I am about to correct.
  10. I am now on board with the "going for the sweep" bandwagon. No need to give these snake-bitten weasels any more hope. Let's send them to the same place as Vancouver and Nashville. Let's do the "Anti-Boston" this Sunday.
  11. yea, i dont feel very good about this one either. hope i'm wrong Feel better about yourselves, guys? :D
  12. I'd prefer if they just won the game. Eager can give Thornton the beating he deserves next November. Absolutely. Thornton does need his arse whupped, but not tonight.
  13. how the heck would a sign and trade with matching salaries work for Bosh right now? They'd have to take back Deng and Hinrich to make that work, right? I would assume a 3rd or maybe a 4th team would need to be involved.
  14. Does that mean Jeff is safe? If Howry is replacing Stevens, then I'm liking this move less and less.
  15. Wait a minute........Vitale talking about a school not name Duke? Surely you jest?
  16. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways, but it is shocking that a team leader of any team, especially the Sharks, would easily surrender whatever mental edge they might have. If Bolland is "easy to play against" fine, but that is something you don't say through the media. All Thornton did was prove that Bolland is in his head.
  17. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/05/sharks-thornton-bolland-easy-to-play-against.html :-)) Bolland is in Joe Thornton's head already. Doesn't bode well for San Jose.
  18. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-0520-bulls-chicago--20100519,0,3151299.story :-)) If the Bulls end up with Kelvin Sampson, I will go out and buy a robot doggie, kick the crap out of it, go to the hospital due to a broken foot, get it to heal, and then break my foot off in the broken robot doggie's you know what. In other words, Kelvin Sampson name in connection to the Bulls, should end right now.
  19. We don't have anybody who has a clue about fundamental baseball. We got a bunch of hackers, not enough hitters.
  20. Every time someone mentions DFA with a player, it always takes me back to the Arizona D'Backs and Russ Ortiz. I mean Arizona was in financial troubles, yet the still ate a good 2.5 years, at least, left on Ortiz's contract, and yet the Cubs won't release ANYBODY unless it's absolutely, positively the only move to make, nevermind keeping said player is demoralizing a team with such bad play. That's because the Diamondbacks GM made a mistake and Jim Hendry has never, ever made a mistake. It's not that Hendry believe he has never made a mistake (sarcasm or not) it is that he'll never admit he made a mistake.

  22. I smell a tag-team steel cage deathmatch. Winner takes all.
  23. Part of it is because these Sayers comments came out of left field. Not to mention Sayers, while he was a great player, never played in the postseason much less win a postseason game, criticizing a team that is 4 years removed from reaching the super bowl. So how would Sayers know what it takes to win? Adding in the fact that it was a member of the Bears family who made these comments, is really stood out. As Urlacher said, the Bears are getting shot at by the media everywhere they go, they don't need to take shot from inside the Bears family.
  24. Are you a budding terrible sportswriter? Nope, budding 90s sitcom writer......
