  1. NHL should forget that they lost Pittsburgh and Washington, I think Chicago/San Jose series will make up for those teams' absenses.
  2. Are you implying Starlin Castro is our Miguel Cabrera?
  3. Well slap me silly, we can beat those "mighty" Pirates.
  4. Strike 2 or strike 3 on, I presume you are talking about Soto? Because strike 2 was an absolute BS strike.
  5. The Cubs have allow the Pirates to score 18 first inning runs during their the 7 game losing streak. So maybe the Cubs can get a minor win, by not allowing a friggin first inning run to the Pirates.
  6. Never in my wildest dreams that it would be so bad that we are begging for the Cubs to "steal a game from the Bucs." Ouch........
  7. It's not even close to being ugly. I think we are close to being the 2010 version of the 2009 New York Mets in terms of getting ugly.
  8. And if the refs don't listen to what Phil says, then this might actually be a fair series. It seems to me that the older Phil gets the more dependant on help from the refs he needs. Actually the older Kobe gets, the more dependant on referees Phil gets. Oh..........ok. Got it.
  9. Just so everyone knows, today marks the end of the Cubs early season "easy" schedule. For the rest of the month, the Cubs have the Rockies, the Phillies, Rangers, Dodgers, and St. Louis. This is about to get ugly, quickly. :blackeye:
  10. Then I must be tired, if I can't pick up sarcasm at this time of night.
  11. Like people don't believe Saban will finished his career at Bama, I do not believe a word Calipari says. His actions needs to speak for him, not his words. If he is still there in 5 years, then I might believe him, but until then he is one NBA coaching opportunity away from leaving Kentucky.

  13. BBTN already did a segment in which Ted Lilly is considered a July 31st acquisition for some team. And I hope Lee, ARam, Lilly, and maybe Fukudome are all gone come July 31st. I don't want Fukudome gone, but I want the Cubs to get younger. I'd like to add Theriot to that list, if a contender wants him. I'm kind of with you on Fukudome. I'd like to see the Cubs younger, but I don't really want to see him gone. On a side note, I can totally see a Zambrano blowup from hell where he asks to be dealt between now and the deadline happening as well. Although, I have my doubts that he's even tradeable right now. On Theriot: I would have included him, but I don't see any team that wants him. On Zambrano: The Cubs should just sign Michael Barrrett back for one more day and let Z have Round 3 at him? Otherwise, I think a blowup is coming.
  14. Maybe, but it is gonna be hard to move much and it's unlikely Jim is gonna be the one selling. This is his shot to save his job. Who says Hendry will have a say if the Cubs do decide to sell? For that matter, who's to say he will even be a part of the organization before July?

  16. This team has gotten progressively worse since that embarrassing playoff loss against the Dodgers in 08, and how Lou still has a job is beyond my pay grade. I know it's a beaten horse, but I needed to say it out loud. Lou Piniella needs to either get canned or go into self-impose retirement, which gets him the hell out of Chicago.
  17. The Cubs have really sucked the love of baseball out of me. My god, this team is not only bad, but they are predictable and boring. No chance in hell do they beat the PIrates tomorrow.
  18. It's amazing to me that the Pirates couldn't touch either the Brewers staff or the Reds staff, but when the Bucs play the Cubs, apparently the Cubs pitchers throw nothing but beachballs.
  19. They say a team takes on the personality of a head coach/manager.
  20. Plz get McCutchen and Jones out today, Dempster.
  21. I particularly enjoy his freak outs about hockey, to be honest.
  22. Talk about rough, the Bruins fans on HFBoards.com are roasting everybody from the owner to just about the towel boy. They want player A,B,C,D,E, etc, gone, but the one person they gree on that should be gone is their head coach. With that said there are a few Bruins fans that are jumping on the Hawks bangwagon. Some are doing it because of they respect the Hawks talent level, but others are mostly doing it out of spite of the other EC teams. One guy even went on to say, "if chicago keeps playing like they did they breeze to the cup".
