  1. I agree with everything that Brian said. This was definately the one "Brian's Song" he didn't want to be apart of. As much as Gale was a great player for the Bears, he really did speak out of turn, imo, and I'm glad Brian put him back in his spot.
  2. Why would you want that at all? Jay Jackson in the major league bullpen is better than Jay Jackson in the AAA bullpen. He's already relieving, might as well get something out of it. Under normal situations I would agree, but then again we have a manager who doesn't always use his best players in the best situations. I much rather Jackson get innings at AAA then come up have a bad debut gets in Piniella doghouse, doesn't pitch for 2 weeks, and then sent back down to AAA. If Piniella would use him in the right situations then I have no problem bringing him up, but I have no faith in Piniella using him properly.
  3. Yeah, the whole thing has been a major step back. They've been doing this for years, but I agree. I always watch the first couple of rounds of the playoffs, but by the time it gets to the conference finals, there are so many off days that I quickly lose interest. I'm quickly finding out that I prefer the NHL playoffs to the NBA playoffs (with or without the Hawks...thank god it is with said Hawks).
  4. Oh good, Landis is using the ole "if I am going down (or already down), I'm bringing you with me" ploy. If there isn't a less credible person in America (other then the president, and Jose Canseco), I can't think of one.
  5. Agreed. Allow Cashner to feed off the success he's having as a starter, and in the case of Jackson, we don't know how he will take to the bullpen. Sure we prolly have better options then Howry, and we would still have those option if and when Bob fails. There isn't anything wrong with this gamble.
  6. Agreed. I much rather sell high on Silva and eat a part of his contract, over trading Gorz for a medicore reliever.
  7. As long as it a non-guarantee contract, and Bullet Bob remains in low pressure situations, I don't mind signing Howry. If this move counters the Jeff Stevens move, then it will suck. People are precondition to criticize any and all Hendry moves, aren't ya'll. If he continues to suck, the Cubs will cut him, no losses. So what's the big deal?
  8. Good lord, you people are hell hounds.
  9. I can definately support this idea.
  10. Ha. I never said I was concerned, I said I thought it was odd, that's all. What do you find odd? And why is it odd? People were mocking Theriot for his lack of power, and yet are praising Castro for his ability to put the bat on the ball. I know the age difference, makes it more impressive on Castro behalf, but essentially Castro has been Theriot with better defense since his first game.
  11. Ha. I never said I was concerned, I said I thought it was odd, that's all.
  12. Or Hollywood police departments. Or Wall Street and Washington. Or Jack Bauer.
  13. Well somebody got to take over the East when the Celts start collecting their Social Secruity Checks, SSR. Might as be the Bulls. And yes, Guillen's a prick, but I don't need Jay to tell me that.
  14. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't not read what is posted there. It is an article written by Jay Mariotti. The title is "LBJ please don't go to Chicago." That is all you need to know about what Jay's topic is about.
  15. hanged, drawn and quartered, plz......
  16. How about the Cubs/Phillies game that ended up like 25-23, or something like that? I know the Cubs lost, but boy that would have been an exciting game.
  17. Not trying to nitpick, but does anybody find it odd that Starlin has 3 XBH in 36 st-bats since his call up?
  18. A: The blogger sounds jaded or if you prefer something stronger, bitter comes to mind. To even suggest San Jose deserves it more the Chicago simply makes his blog invalid. There or no more bandwagon franchise in hockey then San Jose. I could buy Montreal deserving it more, I can even buy Philadelphia, but San Jose. So again to suggest Sharks fans deserve it more the Hawks fans is quite a delusional statement. The bandwagon fans don't deserve it, I agree, but THE Hawks fans, who live and died during the Hawks heyday before those days were put down by Bill Wirtz definately deserves a Cup. This blogger should have his blog taken down for such stupidity. B: The blogger did this to bump up traffic on his blog, without question.
  19. I've heard the reason why the Hawks are better on the road is because Q "simplifies the game plan" and they execute. If the Hawks can contain their emotions, and execute the road game plan at home then this series is over on Sunday. But there is a reason why the Hawks have struggle at home in the playoffs. With that said, split at home and there is a good change you end this series in San Jose in Game 5.
  20. There is a least one Wizs fan over at realgm, that claims that now that they got the #1 pick the Wizs are now a darkhouse candidate to land Lebron. He went on to say he much rather be on the Wizs roster then the Bulls. He doesn't get it. With that said, I suspect you won't find anybody who thinks Washington will be a destination for LBJ. Besides why would LBJ want to go to Washington, he would have to play in MJ's shadow....right...right?
  21. IDK what you are talking about, but Melrose has been on the Hawks bandwagon since Toews/Kane era began. In fact the Hawks are his favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Not to mention he's in love with the Hawks jersey. yeah, he loves the hawks. He said Kaner isn't as good as either of the Sedin twins and that San Jose should figure him out. IDK, the few times I heard him speak it was little barbs like that...maybe I should watch the whole telecast, huh? lol I didn't say he was a smart man (a 50 year old still wearing a mullet, come on), and the Hawks are definately his favorite in this playoffs.
  22. I agree with you. If we can split in Chicago (which is weird to say about your home ice, btw) I think we take Game 5 in San Jose. Now for those who are greedy and wants a sweep, I want to be there with you in spirit with that thinking, but I don't want to press my luck. Let's see where the series is after Game 3. If the Hawks have a commanding 3-0 lead, then I will jump on the sweep bandwagon, but winning in 5 at San Jose, is just as good.
