  1. Even if it means getting himself into trouble with the Cubs, I really wish Miles would lay into both Hendry and Piniella in his column. I mean lay into them to a point that both guys are freaking embarrassed. In the case of Piniella, he clearly does not have the heart for it anymore, and thus he needs to Mike Hargrove himself now and enjoy retirement.
  2. The Cubs are just the ticket for teams that struggles, for example the Marlins.
  3. I feel good about Game 6 on the road. Hawks on the road this playoffs: 4-1. Nucks at home this playoffs: 2-3. Just a little hmmmmm on this off day.
  4. Don't do it, Jim. This is what I am afraid of. A desparate move by a man desparate to save his job.
  5. http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/21612470?tag=headlines;headlines I know this isn't Big Ten related, but the Big Ten like every other conference could be affected by this.
  6. Not very. It's more frustrating then demoraliziing.
  7. I don't understand why the Hawks play better on the road. It's really infuriating that they are dominating at home. But oh well, kcik their asses in Vancouver and watching those Canadians mumble on there way out of the stadium will be fun to watch.
  8. Then it's fortunate for the Hawks to be really good in Canada then. There is less then 5% chance of Vancouver winning this series. We ain't Ovechkin and Washington, the Hawks ain't choking this series away. At this point, I'd put it more at 20%. Still, the point is, I love the Hawks chances at closing this series out either tonight (unlikely) or in Game 6.
  9. No it's not. Luongo always has had the talent to dominate, it's the mental aspect of the game he struggles with. Wait and see if he let's in a soft goal and see how quickly he gives up the lead.

  11. Easy there, chief. this series could easily turn, and it would be talked about forever. Hawks have lost 3 in a row only three times this year (March 25/28/30, March 13/14/17, Jan 30, Feb 3/5). So while it is a possibility that Vancouver can win 3 in a row, the Hawks are something like 6-1 in Canada including 3-1 in Vancouver (including the playoffs). So eve if the Nucks win tonight, and I am hoping the Hawks come back to win, my money is on the series ending in 6.
  12. Let's do it Hawks. Let's not give San Jose move time off then necessary, nor give Nucks hope.
  13. Absolutely. As someone said, watching Dallas hugging/crying with his grandmother after the game (once we found out what happen to the mother) was a great and touching moment.
  14. Well, at least the Chicago Force is playing well. (For those who don't know the Chicago Force is a professional women's football team who is currently 3-0.) Chicago has that going for them, right?
  15. Neither will be canned before the year is over unfortunately. I think Hendry can and will be fired before the AS Break if this team doesn't turn around. As for Lou, I think he's here till the end of the season. He's the captain of this titantic, he should go down with the ship, imo. But getting back to Hendry, my fear isn't him not getting fired, it's him making some pathethic trade to try and improve this team so that he can save his job. I can see him making his own Garland for Karchner type trade before he is fired.
  16. Agreed. When Theriot, Fontenot and RANDY WELLS are outslugging you as a hitter then you know you're in trouble.
  17. that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Agree. It reads as if O'Brien is trying to convince himself that they still have a shot at winning this series, albeit a slim chance.
  18. I'm not going to waste a beautiful sunday afternoon watching this crap. I'm out of here for a couple of hours.
  19. I know, imb didn't make sense to me, either.
  20. So for using so many words, you said nothing. Get to the point, unless you don't have one.
  21. Not really. There's Chicagoblackhawks webpage, there's HFBoards, of course the JV boards. In other words, NSBB is prolly the best Blackhawks MB on the net, believe it or not. There's less whining, less the sky is falling attitude here (believe it or not) then on other boards. I tend to agree, of course, but there are so few of us. A typically game thread on the Hawks' boards will have 700-800 posts, I think, if not more. Yeah but those threads would be similar to the Cubs threads on this site, tho.

  23. I just listen to the podcast for the first time, and while I want to get excited, I really do, I am holding that excitement until I see it happen. But I've said on a couple of Bulls basketball sites, that my theory is the Bulls and Calipari essentially have a handshake agreement on a deal, both sides are waiting till when Cleveland gets eliminated (and Orlando continues to play the playoffs like they have against Atl, then Cleveland won't be beating Orlando) before any confirmation happens. I think this podcast is definately scaring everybody in Cleveland and to a lesser degree New York because of JC connections to be WWW and Lebron. But right now, all this story is much ado about nothing until the playoffs is over. But it is sure fun to talk about.
  24. Grabow screws up and Lou keeps sending him out there, but as soon Caridad screws up he'' be relegated to mop up duty.
