  1. Because I know the talent level on the Hawks, and if Lu doesn't stand on his head, he can lose a 4 goal lead in a hurry. The Hawks have 6 players with 20+ goals, 5 other with 10-17 goals, which means the Hawks have more the enough scoring power to make a goalie have to work the whole game. So yes, even if Vancouver wins, Lu will have to play his best if Vancouver wants to move on, but there is a reason why Lu has been known as an underacheving talent. Chalk this game up as a lost, come back and beat the crap out of Lu in Game 2, and you'll prolly have a different tone heading into game 3. Plus, the Hawks usually play like world beaters in Canada. So it wouldn't surprise me, that after tonight the Hawks won 4 straight against the Canucks.
  2. who will need to stand on his head all game (and for that matter the whole series) no he won't. do you see the score? Vancouver is not this good, and the Hawks are not this bad. We may not win this game, but LU will HAVE to stand on his head to win this series. Plus, I am refusing to get pessimistic AFTER 1 game.
  3. Game 1 had Vancouver up 2-0 into the first intermission. The Hawks exploded for 3 in the 2nd period. I'm not giving this game up yet. Lu is a streaky goalie, who will need to stand on his head all game (and for that matter the whole series) to beat the Blackhawks. The deficit isn't all that deep right now.
  4. The only flaw I see in this theory is that Phil would have to break up with Jeannie Buss (if they haven't already). Cause I don't see him working for the Bulls, or his g/f working for the Lakers. Too much conflict of interests. The only way I see Jax jumping ship from La-La land is if he sees a major decline very soon in the Lakers.
  5. I think someone hacked that account.
  6. I'm haven't. Not because I don't want to believe it, it just that RUMORS at this point is nothing more then either wishful thinking by other teams, or pure speculation. For instance, I hear rumors that Houston will be a player for Bosh, even though Chris has said he doesn't want to play at home. Or how about the rumor that Miami has Amare AND Boozer in the bag? Again, I don't believe anything in the NBA rumor section.
  7. Yeah..........I don't know if I could stomach a Cubs .v. Cubs game.
  8. I know at times he had help, but the way he played Jared Allen last season at Soldier Field gives me hope he can turn into the Pro Bowl caliber LT. Time will tell, tho.
  9. Your wording indicated that you THOUGHT Trammel would take over, which your next sentence contradicts. If what you meant was that you WANT Trammel but THOUGHT it would more likely be Sandberg (which is what your reply seems to suggest), that makes more sense. That's what I meant.
  10. At this point, I seriously doubt the Bulls will be using the Bucks pick in anything other then a trade. I have a feeling that first rd pick will be used in a S-n-T option for the Bulls, so it doesn't really matter where the Bucks end up, especially after Hawks win the next two games....Hehe.
  11. It's only a 7th rder IF Payne makes the 2010 roster, which I pretty sure he will.
  12. The question is, will Ricketts fire a veteran GM and manager. I think he might. Ricketts and his family did not put so much money into buying a team that is underachieving. If this team isn't playing better by the end of May, I thnk Lou and Hendry will be gone, and Trammell and ??? will take over as Manager and GM. But alas if you fire Piniella, you open the door for the Cubs to promote Ryne Sandberg to at least interim manager, and that is a propostion I'm not particularly interested in. You seem to be contradicting yourself. You say that Trammell will take over as manager (good), but in the next sentence you say it will be Sandberg (bad). I want Trammel, but I think I read somewhere that Tom Ricketts wanted Sandberg as the next manager.

  14. Define better? I did that in my other post. :[ All you did was say what Rondo does well, but that doesn't mean he does it better then Rose. The only thing he does better that is noticeable is play defense, everything else is a matter of perspective. And quite frankly, Rondo "maybe" a better player right now because A: the system they run and B: Having three future HOFer as safety net. Not to mention Rose HAS to carry the Bulls for Chicago to be remotely decent, whereas it doesn't matter as much if Rondo plays well or struggles, Boston will be above average as long as Allen/Pierce/Garnett are remotely healthy. IMO, Rose and Rondo=apples and oranges.
  15. Define better?
  16. I know Lou has talked about retiring after the Cubs gig, so why not get him started early on his retirements plans and canned his ass? I mean Colorado recognize the fact that Clint Hurdle was no longer the man needed, so they fired him and replace him with Jim Tracy and Colorado hasn't looked back sense? This team is healthy, and it's a month into the season, and this team is still struggling. A new vioce is needed.
  17. Lost 2/3 to the Nationals. Let that sink in for a moment. 3-3 homestand would be an optimistic homestand. Well, at least we still have the Hawks.
  18. Has Lou giving up trying to manage the Cubs? And yes, I am being serious.
  19. And a slap in the face to the Seattle Mariners pitching coach(es).
  20. I didn't know we were playing against the New York Yankees and they have CC Sabathia on the mound........Oh wait....we're not. I like to see the Cubs try this thing called.......hitting.
  21. But right now he is. No. At best Rose .v. Rondo is a tossup. Give Rose, Johnson and Bosh to run with and we will see if Rose .v. Rondo is even a debate. Right now, if Rondo has an advantage it is slight.
  22. I can't wait until Adam Dunn is DHing in the AL. We'll win this game.
  23. He'd be a capable backup to Rondo though. Ha....SSR made a funny.
  24. And I thought I was a cynic. You don't need to be a douchebag to be great, and I think DRose is out to prove that. I don't care if DRose is a metrosexual off the court. Joe Mauer isn't a douchebag and he's great. I hate to say it but Pujols is great and he's not a douchebag. Same with Chase Utley, CC Sabathia, etc. I know there are alot of great players who are douchebags, but there are those that are not.
  25. The Bears wanting to secure Harris without having to bid on him. Most likely there would had been teams they would have made a play on Harris had he became a FA, someone like New Orleans to possibly to replace Darren Sharper comes to mind. There was no guarantee the Bears could've sign Harris had he reach the market. So I have no problems with trading a player from an area we are pretty solid at for a player that the Bears need.
