  1. The force is strong with this one. Unfortunately, he hasn't been a Cub long enough, so he still has optimism. Good for him.
  2. Yeah, it's looking like ANOTHER Celtics/Lakers Finals. Not that I will watch a minute of that Finals, if it comes to pass, but still....I was hoping for a Suns/Magic Finals. Why wouldn't you watch Celtics/Lakers? What's not intriguing about that? That series is about as intriguing as wet cement drying. At least season 2 Dexter is finally coming in on Netflix, so I got something more interesting watch.

  4. agreed on the sixers being good... the knicks being bad is fun but i understand it's not great for the nba. i'm just glad the sixers have a high pick; they've been in draft purgatory (end of lottery) every year. Call me crazy, but the Knicks being horrendous the past 10 years or so has been [expletive] awesome for the nba. Being a team based in NY doesn't entitle you to be really good. JVG humping Zo's leg.
  5. Good to see the former Hawk playing well.
  6. Hahahaha Blame it on Captain Morgan........until ARam goes through another mindnumbing slump.
  7. I know it won't happen, but I would love for the Cubs to skirt the rules and place Lee and ARam in the 15 day DL with injuries, and the Cubs call up two players who might actually be productive. I think the Cubs will be alright with Nady at first and Baker at 3rd and the Cubs bringing up two players that can't be worse then the players who are currently manning the "power corners" of this infield.
  8. "The vote of confidence" is a bad thing for Piniella. In other words, Hendry just put Piniella on the hot seat.
  9. It's not so much about NJ rehiring Cal, as it is how much does Cal want to go back to the Nets organization? At this point, I would say there is little chance of him returning to the Nets organization. Again, why? Why don't you ask John Calipari. I'm only giving my opinion.

  11. Point of correction: The Hawks got Versteeg from Boston (along with a condtional pick) for Brandon Bochenski.
  12. It be one thing if the Nets lost their best player for extended periods of time during the season, but that not's the case. The Nets just stunk. They had Harris for 64 games. The had Lopez for 82 games. They had Courtney Lee for 72 games. CDR for 62 games. Terrance Williams for 78 games. So it will be hard to sell the Nets on FA when they stunk and their best players were reasonably healthy. Not to mention I doubt NJ will be interested in bring Calipari back to the franchise. And regardless of the ESPN report, James/Calipari will be discussed at some point, but not before the end of the season. If you believe Skip Bayless, and I don't, it would be because Lebron needs a "Batman" (Wade) to his (Lebron) Robin. Other then that, I could see James and Wade playing together but not in Miami. Miami is Wade's team, and I doubt James would want to be the 2nd fiddle. For them to play together, they would have to play in a neutral city, Chicago, NY, NJ.
  13. If true, then I want no part of Cal. He's not some ungodly coach. I read that as WWW and his teams hasn't talked to any teams about that package YET, for obvious reasons. I think it will happen (WWW selling James/Cal combo) but not till the end of the season).
  14. I agree with Flames in that LBJ will not take less money, but there is a good chance that he won't sign a full 6 year deal either. I think LBJ might do another 3 year to reach his 29 birthday, for the main reason if LBJ only signs short-term deals at full max he keeps the pressure on the FO of whoever signs him to keep making moves that will improve the team. lebron can only sign a 6-year deal with the cavs. IDK why I said 6, but you knew what I meant.
  15. I stopped reading after he had the Packers at #1. They'll be good, but they won't be THE team in 2010.
  16. I am not against trading Sharp, but that scenerio would be the last resort to me. I understand the Hawks two important FA to re-sign, Hammer and Niemi, and I hope the Hawks can move enough salary to re-sign both. I think we will see the Hawks pick up alot of draft picks this offseason.

  18. But he was born and raised there and while that might not be a factor with most people, it is with him. LeBron is a creature of habit and that habit is the city of Cleveland. Maybe he'll re-sign, maybe he won't, but those last days in Cleveland did not do any favors for Cavs on getting him to re-sign. Like most tho, I believe he had a foot out the door, and that Cleveland is no better at getting him then Chicago, Miami, or NY (I don't think NJ will be a factor).
  19. I don't think Philly is going to "roll over Montreal", but the Canadians will need to come out strong and win Game 2 to squash that idea.
  20. Halak out, Price in, Philly up 4-0 the last time I checked.
  21. Yeah I think hardcore fans were the only ones that saw Niemi coming. I read an article that was talking about how when Hawks scouts found him he was the backup goaltender on his Finnish team. Don't forget Niemi was thisclose to signing with Detroit, before the Hawks signed him away.
  22. There are two thinigs that being overrated in the Lebron watch: 1. Loyalty and 2: His hometown status. I don't either playing that big of part in his decision. Even then he is genetically engineered in Akron, he never seemed to be a "Cleveland guy." I mean he wears Yankees caps, (even to Indians playoff games), he wears Dallas Cowboy jersies. He feuded with a non-former Brown player. I think Lebron James was not born or raised there, Cleveland wouldn't even have a shot at landing him. The reason they do is because of his birthplace. LBJ will do what is best for LBJ, Cleveland be damned.
  23. What a minute...............there's still playoffs? Well colour me surprise with all the Lebron James talk that there is still playoffs going on. With the emotional win and finishing off of Lebron's Cavs, I'm not surprise to see Boston ride the momentum to a Game 1 win. But I expect Howard to make Perkins his bitch in Game 2 as Orlando should take that game.
