  1. More times then not the better team will win and in this case the Hawks are definately a step or two up on the Flyers or Canadians. Besides, Michael Leighton (I assume Philly will win) has gotten it easy in his 4.5 games since being inserted into the lineup. Facing and dominated such "juggernauts" like the Bruins and Canadians is not the same as dominated teams like Vancouver and San Jose. People saying Leighton is on fire, aand that's true to a point, but I believe that despite the 4 shutouts that Leighton has provided in the playoffs, I still think Niemi is playing better then Leighton, when you consider quality of opponents. Now, I will not overlook the Flyers. Just like the Hawks signing Hossa for this moment, that is why the Flyers signed Chris Pronger. Phildelphia will give the Hawks a run, but ultimately the Hawks have the better all-around team and thus should win.
  2. That's the problem, the Astros' owner is going to want a Peavy like package for Oswalt. I could see the Stros asking for both Derek Norris and Chris Marrero (who would be Berkman's replacement at 1st) and then 2 pitching prospects. To me, that would be too high of a price. If the Nationals want to acquire Oswalt, wait till the offseason.
  3. Then it's a good thing that hockey is played on ice and not through chance.
  4. If I am the Nationals I would hold off from making any major trades this season. This is not your season, you ain't going to win anything but maybe supports from the fans. 2011 should be your target year. The last time the Nationals were in this position they were still called the Expos. They foolishly acquire Cliff Floyd and Bartolo Colon for Carl Pavano, Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Brandon Phillips. None of those players may not have been with the Nationals today, but they would have been in the organization long enough for the Nationals to not have been as crappy as they have been.
  5. It sounds like the Bulls really like this Thibadeau (spelling?) guy, because it sounds like they are trying to interview him now, instead of later.
  6. I still hoping Montreal can prolonged the series one more game.
  7. It's the freakin' Stanley Cup, man. Outside of the Winter Classic there isn't a more desireable ticket in hockey right now. If you can afford (you beat your ass I would go, if I had a chance) to go, then go, you would be a fool if you didn't go.
  8. And.................... :P
  9. STANLEY CUP FINALS...........HERE COMES THE BLACKHAWKS......
  10. shouldnt you bee watching a bunch of canadian and russians or something? He's like me....he's multi-tasking
  11. Shouldn't the Cubs get a pot of gold, once they reach the end of the Grabow? :paladin:
  12. The Celtics and Lakers are actually good teams though. Orlando and Phoenix looked great for a couple rounds but are being exposed by better teams. I dunno, I kind of look forward to some good basketball in the Finals despite my lack of fondness for both fan bases. lol I'm not downgrading the talent level on both teams, but I am definately worn out from the Lakers/Celtics Finals rivalry. I rather see teams that don't make it every year, mixed in with a classic matchup every couple of years.
  13. I love Kerry, but no. Now a cheap 1 year deal in the offseason, I would be amendable, but to trade actual assets for Wood, who hasn't exactly lit the world on fire, would be foolish.
  14. Since the Magic and the Suns have forgotten that there is a Conferences Finals going on, my basketball viewing season is over. When did the new millenium become the 1980s again?
  15. Aram and Lee can stop impersonating Aaron Miles now. Whenever they want to remember they are Aram and DLee, it's would be welcome sight.
  16. NO You don't get a say. :D
  17. I don't think, regardless of who comes out of both conferences, I don't see the SCF going more then 5 games. Maybe 6.
  18. Since I didn't get the watch the game last night, I am watching the replay right now on NHLTV.
  19. Good to hear. Guys like Cheeks and Franks (both are said to be frontrunners for the job) will still be available in a couple of weeks. Just slow down and wait to interview Thibodeau. It wouldn't surprise me if he comes out of nowhere and takes the job after the C's run is over.
  20. Yeah, that's been around for a little while. The NHL, especially Betteman is determine to force hockey onto the citizens of Arizona. Betteman is trying to keep Coyotes franchise in Arizona, even tho the people of that state have never taken to the team. I mean PHX has had Wayne Gretzky associated with that franchise, and people still yawn. But Betteman is refusing defeat, tho. But I agree, Coyotes going back to the stomping grounds would be great for hockey. Move a couple of teams from the south back to Canada, or at least the Northeast.
  21. Which makes the Hawks 3-0 lead even more impressive, considering the refs seem to be on San Jose's side. I want to say it's because the Hawks are more skilled then the Sharks, and that might be true, but I think it's more about Q outcoaching the Sharks HC, more then anything.
  22. Right, that is what I said......
  23. Yeah, I heard Jamal Mashburn throw out this same, but highly unlikely, scenerio. His reasoning as to why it made sense was simply mindboggling stupid. The Lakers would need a S-N-T to make it happen, and if Gilbert and Cleveland knows LBJ is leaving they will not give in and work on a S-N-T to help LBJ. In other words, if LBJ leaves, Cleveland is more likely to be interested in the capspace then overrated and overpaid players (this includes players on the Bulls, and other teams interested in S-N-T ideas with Cleveland). I think Cleveland would be more interested in Bosh as a FA, if Lebron left, over Bynum via trade. Yeah, but unlike the Knicks of yesteryear, that roster would be worth the highest payroll in the league. I have never had a problem with the Bulls having to pay the luxury tax, as long as the roster was worth the hassle and that roster is definately worth it.
