  1. Then why sign Aaron Miles in the first place? I doubt Brian Roberts is coming, unless the Cubs sign him as a FA after the 09 season.
  2. I agree that going by the 2008 numbers that Gregg is a slight downgrade, but not a huge one. The only concern of Gregg I have is the BB/K ratio which also affects the WHIP. But I look at Gregg as replacing Howry, and Marmol replacing Wood, with an off chance that Guzman replacing Marmol. So essentially Vizcaino---if kept---would replace somebody like Kevin Hart of Weurtz.
  3. If the chose is between playing for a contender like the Cubs, or a 2nd tier team like the Nats, imagine what team Bradley will sign with? The only way the Nats will sign Bradley is if they severely overpay for him. And really, the Nats need another OF like the Cubs need another backup 2nd baseman. I'm not concern about the Nats for Bradley.
  4. The Bulls stink. The only reason why they are relevent is because of Derrick Rose. Otherwise this Bulls team would be forgotten in the NBA.
  5. The funniest part of that "fixing up the Cubs" rant is the poster honestly believe that team would contend for a long time. Man talk about being delusional. Yeah, that team would contend..........................contend for the #1 pick. Man what a crappy proposal.

  7. Late December back in '63. What a very special time for me, 'Cause I remember what a night. Oh, what a night. You know, I didn't even know her name, But I was never gonna be the same. What a lady. What a night. Oh, I. I got a funny feeling when she walked In the room and I, As I recall it ended much too soon. :-k
  8. As girly as the Wings were in tonight's game, I don't blame them for not dropping the gloves. They were inside the Hawks heads and they weren't going to give the Hawks an opening to get back into the game, by getting into a fight. OK Don Cherry!! As much fun as the Joey Kocur/Bob Probert days were with the Wings, I would rather win the Cup. Not dropping gloves is not girly, especially if its just because the Hawks were mad about a couple of clean hits against Kane. If there was a dirty hit, than you have to pay the piper. In the macho world of sports not dropping the gloves is considered "girly". But I also said I didn't blame your team for not dropping the gloves to a team clearly frustrated. (Hockey fan in me understands the Wings reluntance to drop the gloves, but the Hawk fan in me really wanted to see the Hawks beat the crap out of a Red Wing player.) I would have told the Blackhawks to not pick fights if the roles are revered. Well, I guess beating the Wings arse at Wrigley and earning a split will suffice. PS: I have no idea who is Don Cherry so.........I don't get that reference.
  9. Suffice to say any and all conversation between the "Mad Hatter" and Oregron will be pure gold.
  10. As girly as the Wings were in tonight's game, I don't blame them for not dropping the gloves. They were inside the Hawks heads and they weren't going to give the Hawks an opening to get back into the game, by getting into a fight.
  11. I was more the willing to let the Wings take this game, but I really, REALLY want the game on NYD.
  12. Uh-oh, Lovie. Being contradicted in public by your boss cannot be good. Safe to say, Angelo will prolly be looking for a QB this offseason.
  13. I don't see Vizcaino with the Cubs for 2009. I think the Cubs flip Vizcaino to another team for a average prospect.
  14. I can't disagree with you about keeping DeRosa, but one of the biggest complaints I've heard about Hendry is that he often sells low on players, ie Patterson, Sosa, Barrett. This might be a case of Hendry selling high on a player. I agree with you that keeping DeRosa and adding Bradley improves the Cubs offense and makes it deeper, but I can see why Hendry would trade DeRosa.
  15. So what will be the reason why the can't complete this time?
  16. There's not a team in the NHL I want the Blackhawks to beat more then the Dead Things. Make it so, Hawks.
  17. This makes me sad. Andre was the LAST PERSON I would have thought that would get in trouble and be sent home. Not the way I imagine Dre' career at the Capstone would end. This also make me :banghead: . Agents knows they can get college football players in trouble, by simply talking to them, and yet these scumbags still do this. I'm not excusing Dre, but I wish there would be consequences to the "agents" if there are caught talking to college players. Something like having their agent license either suspended or flat out voided, would be a start.
  18. I am just estatic that we don't have to hear about the freakin' Patriots till the offseason. With that said......it wouldn't surprise me if it's a Steelers/Panthers. (I know, I know, I prolly just cursed those two teams, but wth.)
  19. from the Trib.....
  20. There aren't any Detroit fans til the 2nd round of the playoffs ;) Wait a minute...actually there is some truth to this...of course there was no thing as a Blackhawk fan until this year You see, this is just trolling. Blackhawks has always had fans, Bill Wirtz was the reason why most stopped following the Hawks. Just because Bill Wirtz basically killed hockey in Chicago from the early 90s to 2006, doesn't mean there weren't Hawks fans. Now Red Wings fans are like Braves fans.
  21. It's only fair the Cubs get the Blackhawks, seeing as the White Sox get the Bulls, via Reinsdorf.
  22. The only reason why I would give the Flyer guy the advantage, because it look to me that he landed a couple of more punches then Adams. As for the welt on Adams noggin, that doesn't mean Grattong "won" the fight, it means he got in a good shot in on Adams. I still maintain the fight between Adams/Gratton was pretty much a draw.
