  1. Sorry, I missed your post, first time through.... There is WAY TOO much whining about DeRosa! Did I like him? YES, very much. Will the Cubs miss him? At times, probably. But with the Cubs determined to balance the lineup he would have diminished playing time and would have been very unhappy. He was a great fit for either the Twins or Indians, and he was paid too much to sit on the bench, when, unlike Fukudome, he could be profitably traded, and MOST of his usefulness could be replaced by a switch hitter who is much cheaper and two years younger. I thought most of the DeRosa complaining was because of who we replaced him with (Miles) not because of losing DeRo himself. I know that was my issue. Trading DeRosa to sign Bradley is a hmmmmmmm moment, but trading DeRosa to open a spot for Aaron Miles doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
  2. I like to nominate the past week for "VH1 Best Week ever." How often do you get the chance to trade a valuable player like DeRosa, sign Aaron Miles, and perhaps even sign Rich Aurilla. That's the best week, evah....... Wiowsa, Jimmy. You are sure making it hard to defend you.
  3. First: Nick is classier then people give him credit for. Second: You are sick man. To think that is your "favorite" story about Alabama. You are sick. You cannot in all seriousness group the majority of Bama with that lunatic, cause I pretty sure every freakin' fan base in America has those kinds of Idiots. That "lunatic" is NOT a representation of the University of Alabama and it's fanbase. And to considered that your favorite Alabama story............that is wrong.
  4. Did a Bammer really just (try to) say "you win with class, you lose with class"? Surely I am not the only person here who understands the irony in that statement? I cannot possibly be. If I read your previous posts, and it lead me to believe you are a Vol fan. which means a Vols fans accusing a Bammer fan of having "no class" is also the definition of irony, seeing as Coach Fulmer is the picture definition of low class.
  5. Not a chance.... Don't need money, so use your imagination. Think a cross between Brad Pitt and Lyle Lovett.
  6. Bad loss. This is without a doubt the worst game of the yr for Bama. (Btw: Thank, you Andre Smith for your distraction, and Kevin Steele I wish yo well at Clemson). I had not seen Alabama play like a Big 10 team in a long time, but oh well it happens. I know I am going to be razzed :club: , but that's ok. I am disappointed in their performance. To be honest this team seemed disinterested after going from potentially playing for the National Title to playing Utah. No disrespect to Utah, but this was a letdown, and the game show that. Disappointed, but they did have a great season. Yeah, Bama was a overrated (but so is Florida, Big 12 teams, USC, blah, blah, blah), only because they've overachieved significantly. But guess what, Alabama is still very young, and they are a legit Top 10 team in college football, despite the last two games they played. My only problem with Utah is they will going trash talking and flaunting like they were the old Miami Hurricanes. You win class, you loss classy. I hope they learn to win classy. Simple truth, they whupped us, no shame. But hey BSU beat OU a couple of yrs ago, OU is currently playing for the NT. And yes, Alabama does have enough talent to play for the National Championship, but getting there is a different story. ROLL TIDE BABY. Razz on, if you must.
  7. They made a few movies about the undone dead, you might wanna check those out. They sound up your alley. Who are you, IMB in disguise? It's well documented that I can't spell, and I type fast, so I am prone to misspelling words...Geez... You should give Firefox a try. It has a built in spell checker !! :-k
  8. lol Hinrich and chucker Nocioni. I still think Gordon's the other guy that should be kept because unlike others, I think he works pretty well with Rose. The stats don't lie, do they? I want Gordon gone and I believe he will be gone as, IMO, his liabilities outweigh he one good basketball skill.
  9. You ALMOST had it. I'd keep Rose, and give everybody else a bus ticket out of Chicago.
  10. They made a few movies about the undone dead, you might wanna check those out. They sound up your alley. Who are you, IMB in disguise? It's well documented that I can't spell, and I type fast, so I am prone to misspelling words...Geez... Good god, sorry to pee in your cheerios. Lighten up Francis. This offseason needs to end soon, before we kill each other. Oh good god, I'm sorry, that came out alot worse then I wanted it. I forget to add 8-). Again that came out as wrong as I intended. So I am sorry if you took it the wrong way.
  11. Getting back to the topic at hand: This might not be saying much, but.......I much rather have Dempster at 4 yrs $52 mill over AJ Brunett at 5 yr $82.5 million. Heck, I might rather have Dempster at his new deal over CC Sabathia and his deal. Considering that pitchers like CC and AJ got there money, and others like Lowe, Sheets, Perez and Wolf have struggle to find available money, I would say no the Cubs didn't overpay for Dempster. Ryan was smart and had decent foresight to sign before the big boys do and the money drying out.

  13. Apparently Hendry/Piniella don't share your opinion. To me Dunn was a "backup" in case the Cubs couldn't sign Bradley.
  14. I wouldn't call it a "bad deal" if he doesn't acquire Peavy, but I would call it a "unnecessary move." It wouldn't simply be unnecessary, though. It's a move that makes us worse. Simply signing Aaron Miles with DeRosa still here would've been unnecessary. Trading DeRo and not greatly upgrading elsewhere is bad. I can't disagree, as I much rather have had the draft picks then the prospects, seeing as DeRosa would likely been a Type B FA, with a chance to be a Type A. With the off chance (and HIGHLY unlikely) and wishful thinking the Cubs could land Peavy and Roberts (I know I laugh at the scenerio also, but hey one can dream) plus Bradley and the Cubs clearly are much improved after trading DeRosa. With that said, I think the Cubs have to trade for Peavy to justify the DeRosa trade.
  15. I disagree. You dont need a enforcer, you need a guy or two that can cause problems in front of the net and win battles in the corners. You are not going to beat the Wings or the Sharks adding a George LaRoque Call this frustration speak. For the most part I agree with you, but the Blackhawks needs someone who can make their PRESENCE known on the ice. Someone that the opposing team knows they will have to answer to if they try anything nasty to a star player. I'm sick and tired of other team trying to hurt Patrick Kane, for instance (and the Wings are guilty of this) and nothing is done in retaliation. Now, Buff has the size to make people tak notice of him on the ice, but this yr he seems to much like a pansy. Wiz is agreat defenseman who will go to bat for his teammates, but his size hurts him. Ben Eager will toss it around from time to time, but let's face it........who's scared of Ben Eager? In ***some ways*** I wish either Kyle Beach, Akim Aliu, Richard Greenop, or even Simon Danis-Pepin were ready for the NHL, becuase all four play with an edge that they will drop the gloves at the blink of an eye. But oh well, none of them are ready for atleast 2 yrs, so to be honest, I hope either the Blackhawks learn to be more physcial on a consistantly, or they acquire someone who is physical. I don't like the fact that the Hawks are 0-6 against the Red Wings/Sharks, knowing if you want to get to the Stanley Cup you will either have to beat one, or both to get there. Right now, the Hawks are looking like a 2nd rd and done team. I think the Hawks can learn from these two embarrassing losses, then from the 9 wins in a row.
  16. I wouldn't call it a "bad deal" if he doesn't acquire Peavy, but I would call it a "unnecessary move."
  17. The thing is.....Milton Bradley isn't replacing Fukudome int he lineup, he's replacing Edmonds/Johnson in the lineup.
  18. I'm holding out hope that this is the case, though I don't know if I can wait another 2 months! I would think if Hendry knew he could only afford either Peavy OR Bradley, that he would choose Peavy. Peavy is truly elite at his position and is more likely to stay healthy. The Cubs do need a RF more than another SP, but I'd think Hendry would have sense enough to go after a cheaper RF, if necessary (Hermida, Scott, etc). But you never know, and there's not much indication, at this point, that this is the case. Same here. I could wait another two months to make it happen, but what I can't handle is the freaking daily "updates", the daily "the deal is done", to "the deal is done" crap that has plagued the Cubs last yr an so far this offseason. If they kept the negotiations private and out of the media, I can live with that. But the daily updates is what I didn't like.
  19. All I know is the Blackhawks needs to address this physical issue they seem to have against the Dead Things. I know they try to stay with them early, but still the Dead Things still had control of the game. If the Hawks wants to go far in the playoffs, they are going to show they can get physical, because you know both the Sharks and Red Wings---who the Hawks are a combine 0-6 against the Sharks/Red Wings---are going to be physcial. Which means, if there is a Georges LaRoque caliber player available (Note: I said a player of his caliber, not nec Georges himself, seeing I doubt Montreal will trade him) I think the Hawks need if the are going to be a threat in the playoffs. The Hawks needs a presence, a body guard of sorts, watching Kane's back, in particular. I realize needing an ENFORCER is like needing a LEADOFF hitter, but let's face facts, the Hawks are a soft team, and soft teams don't go far in the playoffs.
  20. I wish this kid was the Cards GM, so that he could trade us Albert Pujols for Aaron Miles.
  21. Alright, we have a member of "The Lemons" back....Ye.........haw. At least Hendry no understands that you don't need to pay 2.5 mill for a backup catcher. Now he can learn not to pay that said amount for a backup infielder. But hey, he DID have that 6 RBI game once upon a time.
  22. Uh, there's a pretty good "NHL" hockey team in town now. Playing a pretty big game tommorrow afternoon. who is leading off No, who hits second, how is leading off......
  23. He's the Jim Hendry of sports radio? No, more like the John Paxson of sprts radio. At least Hendry has produce quality ML players on the Cubs.
