  1. . :-k They were talking about this the other day on Hot Stove. I had no clue they could set that up. I was always under the impression they had to wait until June or so to trade FA's, didn't know they could agree to change that for specific cases.
  2. I'm in like Flint, if your league would have me. I've been wanting to get in on a committed keeper/dynasty league
  3. Chip was terrible. It's gotta be the shoes, folks, it's gotta be the shoes! I am not believing that... Who was the other guy? He was terrible.
  4. On the downside, the whole AIDS thing. I'm not saying I want to be Robbie Alomar. I'm just saying I wish I were a MLB player. It's a guarantee for hot tail. Pick up a guitar. Guitar > baseball for tail. probably better for AIDS acquisition too. If you're a heterosexual male, it's pretty hard to get AIDS. That's a silly thing to say. It's a true thing to say. Especially if you're a white, hetero male. Poor Roberto Alomar. He never stood a chance
  5. $5.5 million seems steep for a backup who can only really play 1B Let alone one with a terrible injury history. It's a shame he's so brittle, Johnson is a great player when healthy
  6. Luis Gonzalez, Shawn Green, the Giles Brothers are my immediate names that come to mind as potential roid users
  7. WTF. I see your physical abuse, and I raise you with attempted vehicular manslaughter. Runner runner.
  8. It's those damn stairoydes
  9. And in turn, Pie will feel dumb for choosing to play the wrong sport. It's a vicious cycle. I don't know who feels dumb after that, but I'm sure someone would
  10. Solid move for the Nats... pending the price they're paying
  11. Yes yes yes! Logan's Juice Squad. My team is gonna be either a team full of hardcore steroid users or children who hand out juice boxes at recess
  12. [billy Joel crashing his car into the bleachers joke]
  13. Yeesh, how long did you wait to draft a catcher? You should've been able to get a much better catcher than Ramon Hernandez in an 8-team league
  14. I think Ichiro will be a lock if he has a few more 220+ seasons in him. If he can muster 200 or more per season over the next 6 seasons he's in. It's probably not out of line for him to have at least two more 220+ seasons, which can offset him having a few 180-200 hit seasons in his twilight years. I think he'll make it. In 6 years he'll be 40/41. He seems like he's got the type of physique/health that will allow him to play into his mid 40's as a platoon player. Yeah, Ichiro will do it, I'm confident in that statement, not that it has any scientific proof or analysis behind it. Just speculation
  15. A-Rod now admitted he used roids with the Rangers between 2001-2003... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3894847
  16. If Sosa was a user, then clearly he wasn't an idiot like every other person who has been caught and juiced up with a bunch of teammates or club personnel or whatever. He probably did it by himself in private, and obviously not tell anyone. Secondly, as we saw in the Mitchell Report a lot of people kept receipts and/or checks that were used and were signed off by the players. As someone mentioned after the report came out, if Sosa was using, he probably paid cash, and he probably did it discreetly. As in, he didn't buy them from a store that took credit cards, or from a clubhouse trainer, or a notorious MLB supplier. He probably had his own private connections. Which could be a reason he was not included in the Mitchell Report. Thirdly, if any of what I alluded to is true, then Sosa will probably never be busted and only be a speculative user based on his power surge and his congress testimony debacle. Other than that, there is no proof to prove him otherwise, and that "proof" isn't even proof at all. Every inkling of Sammy Sosa as a steroid user is nothing but 100% pure unbridled speculation. That being said, I think he was definitely a steroid user... but I don't give a crap either way. He's still one of my favorite Cubs ever, and will forever be remembered for helping revive baseball's glory in 1998. If steroids were responsible for that, then I'm glad he used them
  17. I share your sentiment, only my Cooperstown hero will be Pedro Feliz
  18. Obviously it's all contingent on a players health and longevity, but if Grady Sizemore can average 180 hits like he is now until he's 38, he'll reach 3,000. 13 more years to go!
  19. I'm bored and was browsing through my fantasy profile history on Yahoo and I was looking at my first Fantasy Baseball team and thought it'd make for a funny thread to show who we had on our old teams several years ago. This was my first team, the 2004 Rick James' Jammers (give me a break, Chappelle's Show was huge at the time), and pretty much the league that propelled me into obsessive baseball status. Before this league I was just kinda 50-50 on following baseball. After this it was 100% baseball, only sport for me. And this was the legendary team that started it all! Keep in mind, I didn't know crap about baseball at the time other than HR - AVG - RBI - ERA. I didn't know crap about saves either and it killed my team's pitching, lol. That's it. So yeah. I had to change the teams to reflect what team each player was on that year. Oh yeah, I came in 4th place out of 10 Moises Alou (CHC - OF,Util) 106R 39HR 106RBI 3SB 80K .293AVG Carlos Beltran (KCR - OF,Util) 121 38 104 42 101 .267 Carlos Delgado (TOR - 1B,Util) 74 32 99 0 115 .269 J.D. 20. I'm not quoting this to add anything of value, just to try and sway the topic from being locked because it turned into an anime discussion. Obviously the deal still has legs. Granted, they might be crippled, but still. I don't think this thing will ever be 100% dead. In the end they'll say "Jake Peavy will be our starting pitcher on opening day... but we'll still be open to trading him" and then a report will come out saying "The Cubs remain interested in Jake Peavy" and thus we have the circle of life. Or despair. Or misery. One of the three.
  21. I was for the longest time, but then for no reason whatsoever my game crapped out on me an started lagging. Even after reinstalls and removed modifications the game just wouldn't work. I'm very upset about it too. The good news is I can always hock it for like $50 because it's so hard to find on the PC
  22. Awesome awesome awesome
  23. Awesome. Thanks for the tips guys. I might need to try that at the end of this year. In general, how many keepers do you allow each team to keep? And are there specific rules, like you can only keep players who were drafted from the 5th round and after, etc?
