With 12 teams, pitchers will start going in the 3rd round, so I think it would be wise to keep one of either Webb or Halladay. It's your preference on which one you think you should keep, I think Halladay is better, but Webb has a more consistent track record so that may be a wiser choice. But Pujols definitely, obviously, and between Hamilton and Longoria it depends on what you value more, 3B offense or OF offense. Obviously there's more OF available, but they'll go fast. Hamilton is typically a first rounder and Longoria will be a 2nd rounder in a 12 team league. It's a tough decision. Pujols for one definitely, and then one of either Hamilton or Longoria and Webb or Halladay. Don't bother with Dunn or Harden. If it were me, I'd probably keep Pujols, Hamilton, and Webb. Mainly because in large team leagues like that the OF gets kinda sparse after the 3rd round. There's not much elite OF talent left after that. And Webb simply because he's consistently been in the low 3's for ERA, whereas Halladay has been a little erractic over the last few years. Plus Webb ha a better K rate.

I am extremely pleased with it, but I realize it looks more like a dynasty team. Lots of potential in my lineup and rotation, but not exactly a bunch of sure things. If my youngsters live up to a little more than half of their potential, I feel I may have one of the best teams in the league. But, they could just as easily flounder and then I could have one of the weakest teams in the league. It's a risky team. Also, I didn't want to overpay for saves, which is why I have Cordero and Wilson, both mediocre closers. Not sure if Zeigler or Devine was gonna be the closerin Oakland, so I picked him up just in case (someone already took Devine) Overall I was very satisfied with my draft considering the amount of teams in the league. I felt lucky that Santana and Liriano fell to me so late in the 2nd and 4th rounds

Got it. Why the break from your Minor League list that you sent me? Do I need to disregard your list, or is it only in the case that you might miss your pick? Yeah, that was just an emergency list. And since then I did a bit more research. I was close to picking a few other guys who were on that list, mainly the ones who were closer to MLB call ups, but I figured with Beckham's position and potential, it'd be wise to draft him. I think some of the players on my list might fall back to me, so I'll be happy with that

I'm gonna take SS Tim Beckham, Tampa Bay Rays

Interesting. Fill a position that scarce. I would be a bit worried about his injuries and that Matt Holliday is no longer around. Well that's kinda what I was going for. I'm not too worried about his injuries or Matt Holliday not hitting behind him. I think he'll be fine. Plus defense plays a minor role in this league so it doesn't hurt to have arguably the best defensive SS in the game there. That and if I'm interpreting the rules correctly, he'll be entering in his 3rd year this year (didn't reach 130AB till 2007) which means he's an exempt keeper for this one year so if he bounces back it'd be a nice cushion to have for next year just in case. That plus there aren't any other guys with that exempt status who are really gonna light the world on fire. Tulo seemed like the right pick because of those factors, IMO What are you talking about Jeter is the best defensive SS in the game. At least ESPN says so. Touché. If only there were an intangibles category...

I'm surprised there was this much activity in the draft so late at night. Any idea of the chance the Copperheads make a pick, cause I'm about to hit the hay but if my pick could come up ion the next half hour i'll tough it out

It carried over from the MLB draft, so since the Bombers had the last pick in the MLB draft, he therefore has the first pick in the minor league draft. Kind of makes sense. Since he got the last pick in the major league draft and the order was done at random (I'm assuming), it makes sense that he gets the first pick of the minor league draft

Can I just say that between this league and the Dynasty league that I joined, the inclusion of minor league players is making me love scouting minor leaguers now. Fantasy Baseball in 2004 made me worship baseball, and now a league like this is making me worship minor league baseball. I'm engulfed in the process and I'm loving every minute of it. I just want to say thanks again for letting me in the league, otherwise I'd probably never get as involved in the minor league process as I am right now. Lord knows I tried in the past but just didn't care much then

I admit I wasn't thinking about the exemption status. Not with any of these picks. Never crossed my mind. Had it I might've selected a different pitcher. But honestly, I don't think I would have. I'm not banking on keeping him at the end of the season, and of the pitchers who I'd like to draft and keep, I don't think they'll be chosen for quite some time so I went with a risky pick and am now hoping for 20-25 starts of pure unbridled pwnage on the mound.

If him pitching in the WBC means he'll be a setup guy, I might actually prefer that. I just hope the Dominicans destroy everyone now so they don't have to use Marmol much

Well, I can rest assured that I won't make the biggest draft mistake this year. :cool: LOL. Yeah. I'm taking a huge gamble, but if he's healthy there's no one better than him on the mound. I'd be completely satisfied if he makes 20-25 starts. But I like taking risks, they make me feel better if they pan out. If they don't, I won't be shocked by it. If they do, I feel like the smartest man alive, lol
