    Why are we still complaining about Matt Murton? He's not as good as Fukudome or Soriano. There's no spot for him on the Cubs, and there won't be one for several years. I'd rather have him tear up Triple A pitching and build his trade value than have him get one start a week as a fourth outfielder.

    I see your point, but those two negative trades don't offset the two good ones. They haven't been nearly as damaging as the Lee/Aramis trades have been beneficial.

    This. I might buy this if his replacement wasn't hitting 150/190/150. That's a valid point, of course. I guess I'm not viewing it so much as Edmonds vs. Pie, as much as Pie needing to get at bats to fix his swing. He's still only 23. I think it's appropriate for him to be in AAA to work on making some big changes that the organization feels he needs to make. There's still a lot of time for him to help the big club in the future.

    He probably realized the Cubs are stupid and aren't going to give him a decent shot, so he just gave up. I was sort of hoping for some actual discussion. Not this.

    Already has as many walks (15) as he did last year in 324 fewer at bats. Definitely good news.

    He knows they're both in the minors. What more do you expect from him? He's too busy to keep tabs on everyone in the minors... The more I hear, the more I think Lou might be the worst manager in baseball, other than Dusty Baker.

    Things can't really be quantified this way. While I agree that signing Edmonds could be higher risk because of player development issues, I don't think Felix has a drastically higher upside than Edmonds for 2008. Obviously, if we're looking toward the future it's a different story.
